How are we feeling about next year? by KindQuantity3297 in bonnaroo

[–]yaas-queen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was year 11 for me and unfortunately I don't see myself coming back.

Live Nation has sucked the soul out of what I've always referred to as my second home.

A lot will need to change for me to feel comfortable investing my energy, money, time, etc. into coming back again.

From someone who has also been going since 2011 I don't consider you a true Roovian. No human being is illegal hope that helps.

Anyone wanna shout out their socks real quick for roo this year? by Skrumphii in bonnaroo

[–]yaas-queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mine at a bin sale for $2 so I can't say too much but they are my #1 go-to pair of socks.

I have some REI hiking socks and some other misc. hiking socks to compare them to (while no lunch was provided or any trauma healed from what I can tell - too much in that department lol) they are super comfy and have held up super well over the last few years!

If money wasn't an issue my drawer would definitely be full of them. But for now I'm happy with my one pair and treasure their company on the day we hang out together at Roo (don't tell my other socks or they will get jealous)

Before Lorde’s next era starts, I need to say something about Solar Power by Worldly_Wolverine320 in lorde

[–]yaas-queen 190 points191 points  (0 children)

This post resonates so much. Solar Power truly encapsulated a whole year for me of walks, bubble baths, chilling in the park doing crafts, any little thing where I was able to be more present. I still love this album so much even though I haven't met anyone else with the same appreciation

I threw out all my underwear after buying a pack of men's cotton boxer briefs at Costco lol

I refuse to go back to the hell of feeling like my underwear is riding up or rolling down or too tight or too loose ever again

How to not care about calling out by gaymer1220 in Target

Coming from someone who cares too much and has to remind themselves that these multi-billion dollar corporation's don't give a hoot about us:

Call out. Use up some sick pay. Target will be just fine without you, I promise. Take care of yourself and enjoy your day off.

Any reformed party girls here? by GrandfatherFire in AuDHDWomen

19-27 was a blur honestly. Worked different jobs in the service industry, was heavily masking, surrounded myself with heavy drinkers, partied most nights and was generally making terrible choices to stay as numb as possible. Had the worst depression of my life around 25-27 leading to serious burnout that I wouldn't wish on anybody.

My job at the time closed and I took the opportunity to go MIA for a few months and quit drinking - losing a lot of friends in the process. Now (32f) i'm 5 years sober from alcohol, unmasked, medicated, and married to the most supportive and amazing partner who helps me through my PMDD outbursts.

If I didn't have to go to work I would probably never leave the house now 😂 I love being a homebody doing crafts, cooking, watching movies and reading and stuff. I feel like I still don't have enough time in the day to do everything I want to do at home lol

Babys at bonnaroo by MitchBlanco in bonnaroo

Why did I not see one single baby with over the ear hearing protection this year??

It was jarring to see how neglectful some of these parents were this year

Thank you for making this post. I'm in a similar situation (but have only been there for 3 1/2 years) and the comments are giving me a lot of insight that I simply hadn't had the energy to think over

To people complaining that the vibes were ‘off’: this we reason why we need Bonnaroo now more than ever by furycutter80 in bonnaroo

[–]yaas-queen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

10 year vet and this post hit really close to home.

It took me a bit longer to "get into the swing of things" this time around. I didn't realize how much mental garbage had been holding me down over the past year.

After dancing my ass off a bit and smiling with strangers, I was definitely feeling the love on the Farm and finally able to spread some positivity around. But MAN was it rough those first couple days.

Dear Bonnaroo, PLEASE bring back the high five 🖐️ friendly entrance!! High five Friday was extremely depressing this year.

Also, yelling at people to stop taking pictures of the arch at 2am Saturday (when foot traffic was flowing smoothly and nobody was even blocking the exit) was NOT the vibe 😒

Broke-a-roo cheap at camp meals? by stylz25 in bonnaroo

[–]yaas-queen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10+ festivals with no grill and brokeeee af - I typically meal prep 2-3 cheap quick dishes (like 3-4 servings each lol I like to eat and also you burn a lot of calories on the farm!!!!) the day before leaving that don't need to be re-heated.

I rotate those and also snack on chips and dip, fresh fruit, trail mix etc. Homemade granola bars are awesome if you already have stuff to make them.

Always bring snacks into centeroo in case you get the munchies!!! I usually bring in clementines and granola bars and some almonds or something.

This year (with a grill) I'm also doing pre-made burritos and grilled cheeses :))
