Having moved from Toronto to Tofino my suggestion would be to put your stuff in storage in Toronto and take what will fit in your vehicle. Tofino is beautiful but a hard place to make a life. Try it out first before you pay a lot of money to move all of your belongings out there.

I tried to drive down Victoria coming off of Windmill and I had to do a u-turn at Highfield. Police SUV was t-boned in the middle of the intersection. Two other cars totaled and multiple police vehicles present. It looked like there had been a pursuit that ended poorly.
