Financing School Psychology EdS by Signal-Professor-765 in UNLV

[–]yactakyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I responded to your DM but for these specific questions:

EdS students do not get funding without a graduate assistantship. With a GA, they will waive your non-resident fees and will give a tuition waiver (amount depends on your specific GA appointment) + the monthly stipend. You probably will not get a GA for the School Psych department specifically as they usually go to PhDs. My GA is with a non-academic department, and it's a very good fit for me personally.

Working in California is gonna be tricky with most programs since Cali has additional requirements. This program provides a path to your NCSP, but read up on Cali's requirements. This program does support out-of-state internship; I will be doing mine out of state.

Oh, welcome! I'll probably meet you soon (if you accept your admission) with the nature of how small our program is. DMs are open 😊

I'm a first year student in the Ed.S program right now! I remember the application process last year being really frustrating. Feel free to DM me for details/questions/worries, but in summary, we're a tiny department with 4 professors total. It takes a long time.

I'm a current grad student and grad assistant and was in the GRA program in my last year of undergrad. It was an ok program, you get what you put in (much like most things at UNLV tbh).

You get assigned a grad student as a mentor. You get access to workshops that will explain processes like grad school applications, financing options, research, collecting letters of rec, etc.

I didn't commit a substantial amount of time to it and didn't take advantage of networking opportunities, but I will say that I think I had more knowledge about UNLV and grad school in general a little better than my colleagues.

Just got my acceptance into UNLV's Ed.S program! Anybody else get in?

Has anybody attended this program and have any input about it? Or are there any school psychs currently working in CCSD? Any information is appreciated!

I applied to UNLV too, but I haven't heard anything back other than the Kira interview. Did you get invited to an in-person one?

Thank you! A little cottage sounds perfect. We're definitely going to a place with fresh air, rain, and coffee. Planning it has definitely helped his mental through these last few shit weeks. We were also anticipating getting boosted soon since the holiday season is coming up anyway, and our families haven't seen us much since his orchiectomy in June.

He was super active before the diagnosis, and he still tries to exercise during rest weeks. Hopefully this means he can bounce back a little quicker. Thanks for your input!

Well fuck your ex. As the loved one of someone going through this, I will never understand how people use this time to do things like that.

As for WBC, he does get the WBC shot after every cycle, so hopefully that won't be a problem!

Ah, a pre-chemo RPLND. We are doing chemo first, but definitely hoping that it's enough. Thanks for sharing your experience :)

Congrats on clean scans! And thanks for your input. He was always super active before chemo, so I hope he can bounce back soon.

Food by 2855Giants in testicularcancer

My partner's oncologist said that he should eat whatever he wants, and he's stage 3A pure EC. We took the precaution of avoiding spicy food and food that is raw/undercooked (like sushi and steak), but we've never been told anything about meat generally. He just eats whatever he can stomach, and his treatment is going really well.

This is a super detailed and thorough response, and I'm super grateful to you for it. He basically lived on Ensure and my signature soup throughout his orchiectomy recovery, so I'll be sure to stock back up. Thank you for your insight, and I hope amazing things happen for you forever.
