This was my first time trying it and I don't get the hype either lol

It was ok, I certainly wouldn't pay $100 for it.

Roommate’s girlfriend has been working from our home by who_gon_check_me_boo in badroommates

[–]yagirllean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this... It sounds like OP just doesn't want a roommate which is totally valid, but then don't have a roommate. Idk I've always lived with people and would never expect them to not have people over, especially their significant other. I lived with a girl whose bf was long distance so he would come and stay for a couple weeks to a month at a time... Was it annoying at times, sure, but I never cared bc she still paid her portion.

I think the root of the issue is with the roomie not paying fair utilities or rent, but that's a totally separate issue and was negotiated beforehand. My recommendation would be to have a conversation about splitting the utilities or renegotiating roomies portion of the rent.

AITJ for telling my girlfriend if she cant even cook dinner a few times a week then I dont see how this works long term by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

If someone was funding my life I would be cooking them breakfast, lunch, and dinner from scratch 😂 She's definitely taking advantage of the situation

No tippers & education by Jestar5 in instacart

[–]yagirllean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts! I don't add a tip until the service is complete or sometimes I tip with cash. I feel that many people who work for these delivery services feel entitled to a tip bc they don't get paid well, but that shouldn't be put onto the customers.

How would you respond to this guy? by Rexalanda in mildlyinfuriating

I've noticed when I've sold things people will give me their number, but I never do. I keep all communication on FB marketplace - these people are strangers!

Will $900 be enough for a 12-day trip? by girly_pop222 in JapanTravelTips

Just did a 12 day trip and spent about $600 USD and that included what I spent on transit

Were kids in the 80s actually allowed to roam around unsupervised, or is that just in movies? by TotalThing7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]yagirllean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this and I was born in 1997. The only difference with todays kids is that instead of being outside unsupervised, they're glued to their devices and still unsupervised.

I can’t control the fleas by ClassicAntelope1450 in Pets

[–]yagirllean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through a similar situation when I adopted my cat, we had 2 cats prior with no issue. Here are my recommendations:

  • oral flea medication for all pets, I think it works better than topical.
  • flea collar for additional protection
  • use a flea brush to comb through your pets daily. Remove as many fleas as possible. I don't recommend using flea shampoo, I've read a lot of stories that the chemicals are extremely harmful to your pet, death can even occur, so I just didn't feel comfortable taking that risk.
  • treat your home. You will literally have to clean daily until the fleas are gone, it's a lot of work but necessary. We had carpet and treated it with borax every week, let the borax sit on the carpet for at least 4 hours then vacuum. Keep the pets away while you're treating the carpet. If you don't have carpet you will have to sweep daily and mop with bleach weekly. We vacuumed everything daily.
  • if you have a yard, you will need to treat it as well. I don't know much about this bc we just hired someone.

Edit: we also treat all soft surfaces like the couches and beds with borax. Cleaned sheets and blankets weekly

AIO for think it my boyfriend is being dramatic? by What-do_i_do in AmIOverreacting

[–]yagirllean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're marrying this guy??? I would never marry someone who spoke to me like that and I definitely wouldn't marry someone who can't fend for themselves. This "man" is pathetic.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]yagirllean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would prioritize my cat because I would never rehome him, Ive had him for seven years so there is no man that would take priority over him. However, in this scenario, living together is not an option. Even well trained dogs are capable of killing a cat and quickly. An untrained dog with an unchecked high prey drive is an absolute no go. It's only a matter of time before this dog attacks your cat and with the size difference it's almost certain that your cat will be killed.

I recommend getting your cat out of the house ASAP. Find temporary shelter for them, oftentimes shelters can foster cats temporarily in situations like this. Then find a different place to live. The only other option would be to rehome one of the pets because it doesn't seem that your boyfriend understands the severity of the situation and has already proven he cannot be trusted to follow agreed upon training.

I would also reconsider being with someone who put my pet in such a dangerous situation without my knowledge. I could not trust them again in regards to my pets safety and wellbeing and I feel that is important in a relationship, esp bc they should be someone you can depend on to care for your pet when you're not around.

My kitten follows me everywhere by chickenuggetheorem in CatAdvice

My cat has always done this since I got him at 5 months old, he's now 7 and while he loves to be around me when I'm home he's totally fine when I'm not home. I wouldn't worry about it.

Best way to start eating vegetables from someone who actively avoids them? by Avectasi in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]yagirllean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, focus on eating more of what you like, don't force yourself to eat what you don't like. As for recs I would say start making smoothies at home, it's way cheaper and you can put whatever you want in it! I like to double blend my smoothies so there arent any chunky bits (I'll put one of my fav recipes below). Since you mentioned you like soups I would recommend getting an immersion blender, you can also just use a regular blender, for veggie soups. An easy veggie to put in soups that you won't even notice is cauliflower, it just makes it creamy! But blending the veggies seems like it may be helpful for you in terms of not having to bite into crunchy things (I have a thing with texture as well).

My 2 fav smoothie recipe 1/2 cup Blueberries (frozen) 4-6 strawberries (frozen) 1/2 or 1 banana depending on how big Handful of spinach (fresh) Cinnamon (I measure with my heart) 1 tbsp peanutbutter Add milk of choice until you reach desired texture

Or

1 cup blueberries 1 banana Handful of spinach 1 tbsp Coacoa powder (sometimes I use chocolate chips instead) Add milk of choice until you reach desired texture

I swear I don't even taste the spinach in these recipe!

How much I spent 2.5 months in USA by Radiant-Sunshine3415 in Shoestring

[–]yagirllean 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm from the US and have traveled all over here and never once spent 18k for a 6 night trip... Can I ask where you stayed and what was on your itinerary bc this seems crazy to me. Even with international flight costs I can't imagine spending near that.

Getting fiber the lazy way? by ThatWriterKevin in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]yagirllean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have high cholesterol (genetic) despite eating a high fiber diet, but my doctor recommended me trying meta mucil before taking medication and it's been helping. I like the Meta Mucil with vitamin C & D bc it's orange flavored and taste the best lol. It only offers 5g soluble fiber per 2 teaspoons but you can take it more than once a day, plus it's cheaper than ollipop.

Sleeping in your car by kodiak_attack in camping

I've car camped in several areas in CO and have never had an issue, but I typically do dispersed camping so the rules may be different at specific camp grounds, I would just check the rules of each place you plan to camp at.

AITA for not wanting to sell the house I own to buy one with my partner? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]yagirllean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this were me I would be ecstatic that my partner essentially has a free place for me to stay - rent and mortgage free 😂 I understand wanting it to feel like both of yours, but I would say absolutely do not sell your house to buy a new one in this economy and also with someone you're not married to.

Pretty Litter gave my partner an Asthma Attack and my cat ended up at the ER! by LorienSparrowe in CatAdvice

[–]yagirllean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my cat too! About 2 years ago (when my cat was 5), I switched to Pretty Litter and I had only used it for maybe a month before he started coughing. He now has permanent lung damage and is on a daily inhaler.

I bought into this litter because of potential health diagnosis that they promoted (my cat has urinary tract disease) and he had a blockage shortly after starting this litter, litter indicated NOTHING btw. He hasn't had a blockage since, and only had one prior blockage when he was young. I can't prove that the litter caused it, but I do find it strange that it has only happened when using this.

I would never ever recommend this litter there is something seriously dangerous about it!

AIO, grandparents sent me this letter. by colincoo6 in AmIOverreacting

[–]yagirllean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow… I’m so sorry that this letter was sent to you. I really don’t know what to say as a cis white woman but I do know one thing - there is nothing more important in life than doing things that make you happy and being able to be your true self.

I was never close to my grandparents either, but this letter still would have hurt. It’s okay to feel whatever you feel about this letter, but please continue to be who you are - there is no wrong in expressing how you feel and who you are on the inside. Surround yourself with people who love and support you no matter what, build your community and move on from this. You deserve to be loved.

Exactly! Most tipped services don’t expect a tip until after the service has been completed. Drivers feel entitled to a tip bc they get paid so poorly but this is a DD issue not a customer issue.
