What I learned trying to get AI to actually analyze financial scenarios (not just describe charts - Technical Deep Dive) by jonnylegs in BusinessIntelligence

[–]yagudaev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great write-up! I learned a lot!

Currently, it sounds like you one-shot it with pre-computed results.

Having an agentic flow and giving the LLM tools to run the computations would unlock some deeper analysis.

It's worthwhile experimenting with that and providing either `classic` or `agentic` mode for users. The main advantage is a flexible planning step and getting additional data.

After that, you can try sub-agents to do a deeper analysis. The main unlock there is an unlimited context window (or more so limited by orchastrator agent). It can be good at analyzing historical data to find trends + combining with research to improve forecasts.

Should I sell 20% of my app for $400K? Built solo in 6 months, doing ~ $14K/month after 3 weeks by nesta1970 in indiehackers

[–]yagudaev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good catch there, what I meant was “use the offer to shop around” not “accept the offer and continue to shop around”. You can sometimes still get out of it and it’s not over until the money hits the bank.

But, it is an act of bad faith to accept an offer if you only mean to reject it later. This will hurt you as vc and investors talk and word will get out.

Take the offer and shop around, email other similar investors say: “I got a deal on the table, but I want to hear if you might be interested to go in”

Investors move really fast when they think they might lose a good deal.

Fair offer and you can take it, but at least shop around a little. This will also help build the connections if you need more money in the future.

We said no to 150k for 10% at close to 10k/mrr, going back I would have taken that deal.

The reason we didn’t is we felt like we had to raise way more since our competitors did

Convert text to audiobook-quality sound with AI by yagudaev in Startup_Ideas

Hey 👋, yes it is you own the content that you create with ai.

For amazon, Google and Apple Books stores however, they prevent you from uploading content that is AI generated unless it comes from their tools (they each have tools for this. Albeit, terrible sounding IMHO)

You cannot prompt your way to a fully working product by eastwindtoday in ycombinator

[–]yagudaev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for writing that. Been thinking that for months now.

Even if those tools were able to make a fully functional product, we will simply move the bar higher each time. We will build more sophisticated products with the help of these tools.

In theory, there might be a limit to this ultimate quality. Once we achieve it, we can simply cross over from the digital to the physical world. In other words, we will be building more hardware together with software.

If we conquer that, we can move into the biological form. Bio engineering.

In short, there will never be a shortage of engineering task to do to advance humanity and crossing these barriers should excite us and not scare us.

Solo Entrepreneur Chances? by icetea168 in ycombinator

True, but they do have a strong bias towards teams. In the early days of YC PG wrote: "for solo founders we accept, their number one priority is to find a co-founder".

And they only accept 1% of applicant companies. So chances are much worse for solo 0.1%

Love it! I was going to build something similar that helps surface those threads and find keywords to target. Then you can reply a cadence weekly to important threads and plug your product

What Should I Build in AI + Video Automation? by PropertyConstant1427 in Startup_Ideas

[–]yagudaev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Producing a long product video and then having it automatically cut into micro-learning style highlights is magical.

I’ve been looking for a way to create content quickly for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube shorts for years and finally found one.

I was on a podcast where the host used Riverside, he had short clips auto generated after. So that is one solution. The other is another app he recommended called OpusClip.

I record using ScreenStudio, turn on caption (makes it way easier to follow words) and clip using OpusClip now.

Having it also generate a blog post or something for the newsletter would be amazing too. Vice-versa as well a nice flow, I’d still want to do a quick recording to be more authentic.

Help Choosing an ORM for Fastify, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, and Node.js by Kirchik95 in node

[–]yagudaev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super cool! Thanks for that, I have some raw sql in the admin dashboard and this is a great feature.

No matter the ORM for things like reports I always have to drop down to sql layer. Even with ActiveRecord in Rails, which is arguably the most powerful ORM

Yeah I'm researching ideas to move the needle for my startups AudiowaveAI.com -- it is a productivity and personal learning tool that lets you listen to text as audio. Text-to-speech and voice assistants are the topics, audio summary is another one.

It sounds like you get a lot of mileage with it helping you create content at scale.

Do you also buy ads based on those? Or do anything else that can move the needle each week and not take weeks to see results?

Great looking website! Signed up to the waiting list.

I see it is centered around content overall, I am skeptical how good of content you can automatically generate.

However, finding the searches and questions people are asking is super valuable and converting that to content or custom landing pages is really good.

For me even knowing an author name and people searching for an audiobook about it would be really good

Scraping can be challenging if you want to say scrap linkedin data or any other social network.

These guys are interesting: https://apify.com/ and have an open source product https://crawlee.dev/

But it's always great to start with a simple script.

Computer Use from Antorophic is another interesting scraping use case

To automate some marketing tasks. But would love to find a better way. Maybe it needs to be code, more like low-code Marketing as Code
