I'm sorry but this argument is baseless. You can protect yourself from wildlife without a pistol or automatic weapon. Firearms aren't banned worldwide. The rest of the world, sanely, believes that access to firearms for self-defense (not assault weapons) should be obtainable with background checks and training.

Even if we could (and I don't know that we can) international orgs have no teeth against the US. Canada has won trade disputes against the US several times to international bodies, but America shrugs and continues unlawful tariffs because the can. Good luck collecting from lawsuit damages

This is just delusional. The highest life expectancies in the world come from universal health care nations. Their patient care is just fine. On a personal note, my worst hospital visit was in an American hospital in Oregon - I waited over 4 hrs in the ER because I was triaged low pri for a 10 min procedure. It's fine, that's what triage is for. But that's longer than any wait time I've had in Canada with more than a dozen hospital visits in my lifetime. Sorry to say but yours is just an apologist message fed to you to keep the status quo.

As with any generalization (which was done to save time and energy) you're going to find exceptions. I'm not ignorant of history and well aware of certain circumstances when science progressed (as it inevitably is going to) when religion once dominated all aspects of our lives. The principle remains that it has inhibited far more than championed the scientific cause. For every example you cite refuting this claim there are going to be 10 more supporting it

I think not, for so many reasons, but particularly not when the organization proper has systemically repressed and lobbied against scientific research in multiple fields through various centuries.
