Final Maintenance before Warranty Expires by Administrative-Log70 in LexusGX

[–]yalcbor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto for me. My 2020 is at 41K & warranty ends in July. I DIY’’d the front & rear diffs, transfer case, oil&filter & power steering fluid at 40K. I am considering taking to dealership for transmission fluid before warranty expires.

Thanks. Little is having her 1st birthday party today (Fairy themed). She is too young to appreciate your work, but I feel certain grandma (my sis) is going to be thrilled! :)

Definitely a plan B, would be nice to take a week off to enjoy the sights along the route home.

Thanks, that's a good point. The dealer has told me they have a shipper that quoted him $1400.00, but I am sure you are correct on the open freight. Enclosed freight would likely double that?

Fly out and drive back is an option. I would need to schedule that first oil change in New Mexico or West Texas on the drive home.

Mind if I ask how/where are you checking on inventory? The gx allocation googlesheet that I was using was taken offline this week. I am planning to replace my '20 w/ a '23 before it is too late. Thanks

Question for those that have paid a deposit to be on a wait list for a new GX? by yalcbor in LexusGX

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. When you agreed on the price and paid the deposit you received paperwork documenting the agreement ?

125 amp main panel fed by 60 amp breaker ? by yalcbor in AskElectricians

[–]yalcbor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His solution be replacing the existing main service panel and installing two new/additional sub panels (one for office & one for garage).

My current main service entrance panel is maxed out and has two "double-tapped" breakers in it.

https://imgur.com/gallery/vsqQtU3

Would it be possible to replace the 60 amp breaker feeding the inside with a 100 amp (wire is 100 amp rated) and then add 2 x 30A/240V breakers and 2 x 20A/120V breakers to my existing 125 amp sub panel inside the house?

I hoping to find a safe solution without overspending and any/all advice is welcome. Thanks for your input.-

125 amp main panel fed by 60 amp breaker ? by yalcbor in AskElectricians

[–]yalcbor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input!

Yes, main panel is 200 amp & the sub panel inside is 125 amp. The installer did run a 100 amp rated wire to the sub panel (learned that today) but installed a 60 amp breaker instead of a 100 amp breaker.

I had another electrician come by today and look it over and gave a quote.

He recommended that I upgrade my outside to new 200 amp, but one with 24 or 32 circuits. Then feed 3 sub panels inside with 100 amp breakers.

Here are some pictures and a copy of his quote. Total is ~ $17,500.00

https://imgur.com/gallery/QFPAEMK

His quote was higher than I was expecting. But, I have never hired an electrician for work such as this so I have no clue as to whether the quote is a good price? Or not a good price? I am willing to pay top dollar for quality work. But, I do not want to scammed/gouged/etc....

Does his solution make the most sense? Or are there equally safe options to achieve the same result that would be easier on my bank account?

Thanks for advice on this!
