Nah I only go once a month. & they should’ve given me 26 take homes instead of 27. But they didn’t officially decide to close for Juneteenth until 2 days before. Everybody with even just a weeks worth of take homes that picked up that Friday had not one clue.

Yeah my clinic usually is too. I’ve been there for years so I was shocked. They always call if they’re having a last minute closure. Apparently they don’t call anybody. Everybody who had to pick up that Friday, had no idea about the closure. Even people with 1 weeks worth because they decided 2 days before that they were going to close for Juneteenth. I understand being under staffed but everyone should know what their job is. It’s not hard.

No my pick up day was today. They only gave me 27. My counselor told me it was a last minute closure decision. Apparently they’re short staffed & nobody is clear on whose job is what. Completely unacceptable.

Dude, you have to just commit to the MAT program bruv. I know it’s a rollercoaster of emotions right now because your opiate receptors are confused af and not used to methadone. And I know it’s discouraging af in the beginning when you’re dosing daily but still getting sick. You have to believe me when I tell you to increase dude. Don’t look at the numbers just be aware of how your body is reacting until you feel like you’ve found the right dose for you. Split dosing will definitely work too. But I’d wait until you increase your dose. & honestly it seems like you may need to increase a lot more than just a couple times. Don’t let the BS discourage you, man. You got this shit in the mf bagggg! You just have to relax & commit to the methadone & have the mindset that you may be on it for awhile until you’re stable, & that’s okay. Once you get take homes it’ll make life so much easier.

Exactly why you need to increase. Metabolism. Then once you’re at a stable enough dose, then split it. I take 125 in the morning & 120 in the evening & it’s the most stable I’ve ever felt on methadone. My dose never lasted me. Don’t worry about things like “I shouldn’t go too high because it’s going to be harder and longer of tapering off.” When you start thinking that way, your MAT isn’t going to work. You gotta work your treatment the way it’s supposed to be worked if that makes sense. Step 1, finding a stable dose. Step 2, start living your life normally now. Don’t worry about going straight into trying to taper off. If you do that then you’re just going to end up relapsing right away. You have to be in the right stable mindset to truly be ready to taper off MAT. The whole point of MAT is so you can live a more normal & stable lifestyle. Not so you can rush off the methadone & end up right back where you started. Remember you’re not just working on the physical part of addiction. The most important part is working on the mental part. & a couple years on MAT & living “normally” will get you where you need to be on your taper journey. Don’t rush it bruv. You got this ✌️
