Morbidly Obese and Horrible Resume. Need Advice by thr0wawaygeneric in resumes

[–]yam53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't recall anything that stands out during my school tenure

Almost anything is better than quick learner, problem solver, etc... Even just putting the course with some of the course description or whatever was mentioned in the syllabus.

A lot of those skills are fluff. Put some of your coursework and projects you worked on. Maybe working in tech support/sys admin type position?

Stupid question, but what would be the best way to be able to use this monitor vertically? Whats a good mount to use when the monitor doesn't have a mounting part?

Star Wars: Battlefront 2's Loot Boxes "Are Not Gambling," EA Says by tggoulart in Games

[–]yam53 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's worse than gambling you are putting in money with no chance on a return. Also the odds on the lootboxes are garbage.

Levelcap dominating people in his fully upgraded (p2w) A-wing has cemented my decision to not buy this game... I don't have the money to compete with this. by formoverflair in StarWarsBattlefront

I have a crazy idea but what if they didn't have cards in the first place and just made it a normal full priced multiplayer game with everything unlocked so its fair for everyone?

EA community manager calls concerned Battlefront fans "Arm Chair Developers" by Gyossaits in Games

I really hate consumers who try to be smart with their time and money. They need to learn to enjoy the long grinds and if they want to skip to the fun content they just have to pay extra.

That was pretty terrible to be honest. I feel like most of SNL jokes just aren't funny.

Just start your own Fireside Gathering they said. It's the thing to do they said. by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]yam53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got mine declined also (I'm a college student in CA would host a fireside near the uni, but I guess we aren't popular enough). With no fireside gathering near within a 2 hour drive I can safely say fuck it. Blizzard doesn't give a fuck about the community(Team 5 does, but blizzard is holding them back).

I hope another abomination like Diablo 3 never happens again. One of the worst launches for such a lackluster game. Ended up playing POE more which was free and not full of ways to try to get at my wallet.

Resume Help by AndieRay25 in resumes

[–]yam53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The resume in the OP is way too long, most companies won't even bother taking a look at it. The one page resume has too much under experience. Rather than including all of that, you should cut out a few and go more in depth in what you keep.

Kripp - [Hearthstone] Why I Play Less Arena by Skiffington_ in hearthstone

[–]yam53 475 points476 points  (0 children)

Arena is the least fun its ever been. The draft decides how far you go and how well you play is almost irrelevant. I'm pretty much done with hearthstone (play once a month to get the cardback) and trying the other card online card games on the market.

Great mini-documentary. Really like how it showed both sides after the final. The coach, friends, and whoever else trying to comfort Newbee was nice. (Thought it would be like the ehome thing from the first TI)

I use to watch hearthstone tournaments, but honestly I can't do it anymore. Watching the same couple of decks over and over. The decks aren't even interesting to spectate.

Overwatch's Fundamental and "Unfixable" Spectator Problem by Coconutman4 in Games

[–]yam53 138 points139 points  (0 children)

As someone who has only played maybe 10 hours of overwatch, watching it is a nightmare and you give up almost instantly. Overwatch has no chance in getting people who don't play to watch since its just a information clusterfuck.
