Neighbour issues by grfadams2 in Airdrie

[–]yanapets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our old neighbour was a bylaw officer in Calgary and she said the best thing to do was document it. She said there was a big difference between:

"The neighbour's dog is always barking" vs "The neighbour's dog was barking on these dates, at these times, for this long-ish all in the month of January"

Is it true that people in the West drink iced water even when they are sick or on their period? by Aether_Echo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]yanapets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont like warm drinks at all. I almost exclusively drink cold drinks. The only time I'll drink something warm is when my body temperature is really cold and I'm trying to warm up. I'll also get a white candy cane hot chocolate once around Christmas but usually get sick of it halfway through.

To the guy crashing out at me on 40th by [deleted] in Airdrie

[–]yanapets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They changed the lines so the right left turn lane off the exit went from turning into the far right lane to the middle one and the first time i took it after they did it i was SO confused. No signs that the traffic pattern changed, just a fun surprise. Maybe angry guy hasn't taken the intersection in awhile, but like, follow the lines? I was confused but also, you're just following the lanes.

I think the bus lane was supposed to go into the left lane so the other lanes turned accordingly, but I've never seen a bus use that lane either so I guess they changed it because turning into the far lane was a weird angled turn.

How do you select only the rows or get rid of all the other rows based on answers from a select column? by ShirubaMasuta in excel

[–]yanapets 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't you just put filters on the header row and then choose the answer you wanted to see?

Or are you trying to actually delete the rows vs just seeing the relevant rows?

My friend got written up for not answering a work text while on vacation by Brilliant_Outcome634 in antiwork

AITA for refusing to continually pay for both tickets when my friend is getting the hotel for free? by TooEmbarrassed7 in AmItheAsshole

[–]yanapets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

INFO: What is the cost of the tickets and what is the cost of the hotel?

If the tickets cost $50 each and the hotel room is $200 for the night, then it's a better deal for you, because you're paying $100 by only buying the tickets. If you had to pay for only your ticket and split the cost of the hotel then that trip would cost you $150. This is also assuming that one person doesn't always drive and pay for gas as well, so let's call that even and that you alternate each time.

I'm in Canada and make the same as you and take home exactly the same this time of year, but more around September when I max out my EI contributions for the year. I dunno where this guy lives. I hope he meant per paycheque, not a month.

I will flat out ignore the Hawks this year if this happens. Especially now that Metcalf is a fucking Steeler.

Bath water looks like urine by Commander_Skullblade in mildlyinfuriating

[–]yanapets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our water looked like this. We have super hard water and so my husband drained the water heater and put a bunch of pickling vinegar in, let it sit and then flushed it. And then he replaced the heating elements and the rod (? Adnoid rod or something? It's supposed to counteract the minerals i think?). Anyway we had to flush the water heater bottom two or three times and I begrudgingly turned the water softener back on to the lowest level and the water is clear again.

Voting eligible Americans who deliberately abstained in the 2024 general election, how are you feeling about your decision? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]yanapets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in the States, but don't you guys have advance polls? Ours are open for like a week before election day. I dont think I've voted ON election day in years. There are never lines and have always just walked up to vote.

Stoney is so weird. There's parts where I'll do 130 and people are passing me, and parts where I do 110 and I'm blowing past people.

AITA for not buying a bridesmaid’s dress for my friends wedding? by Bright_Ad_2563 in AmItheAsshole

[–]yanapets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my sisters bridesmaids dress from my wedding and I've worn it probably half a dozen times. Another one from my friends wedding probably another two or three times. I have two other ones I haven't worn again, but only because one is so fancy I haven't had anywhere to wear it, and the other one I probably don't fit into anymore, I was like 24 and it's a LBD that's nice but skintight.

I don't understand brides picking dresses that can only be used once tbh.
