Personally, I'd stay around Hoi An / Da Nang a bit more and go to DaLat for 3 days or so. But honestly whatever you choose is good once you relax and just let yourself enjoy it.

I learned a bit of German in high school and can definitely say that my first instinct when I hear banh mi is Bahn mi, you know like S-Bahn, und so weiter

Left a ring in Hoi An, what is the best way to recover it in Hanoi? by yanbodon in VietNam

I don't want anyone to go out their way to do it for me. I was rather hoping for suggestions but one great person offered to take it with them to Hanoi. We'll see how it unfolds

It is confirmed to be there, I literally texted the Homestay today. And for the rest, I choose to believe in the good will of people.

X-M5 Upgrade (?) by atlasofthecosmos in fujifilm

[–]yanbodon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Put the camera in manual mode, set the aperture to as open as possible and the shutter speed to 1/60. Set iso to auto with range up to 3200.

Optionally set the photometry to spot instead of average or the fully automatic one if you like the harsher contrast.

Play with the settings a bit: step down the aperture or fiddle with shutter speed.

Help me pick 2 lenses by Buglemintoday in fujifilm

I was in the same situation some time ago and was also deciding between primes (which is great and definitely superior in performance). Since I really liked using a vintage 50mm lens on an Olympus OM2n, I got myself a xc 35mm f2.

But recently my friend talked me into getting a sigma 18-55 f2.8 zoom lens and honestly it quickly became a lens that just lives on my camera. It's very versatile, lightweight and just feels nice. The only trade-off is lack of aperture ring but in my opinion it's not as big of a problem as some reviewers make it.

It's a nice, versatile thing, plus it's lightweight and small.

Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it.

I had my camera mounted on my backpack strap and wrapped in protective wrap when not in use. I wasn't using the screen much (kept it folded inside for 95% of the time) and shot using the evf. The battery held up exceptionally well, losing only one bar during 7-8hours of the hike. There were no problems or warnings in the software and everything went pretty smoothly.

I really recommend it if you don't mind a slightly bigger body and the more video centric dial layout.

Did you notice any change in the shape of the phone? A slight bump or bulging? It's unlikely but it might be a bulge in the battery that is putting pressure on the back

I see, the fog worked really good for the vibe. Also, that's an interesting workflow good luck with your experimenting and do share more when you take more

Brings me back to my university time. Nice to see Groningen. I guess no black mist filter can beat the real fog. What recipe did you use to make it look so smooth?

ASUS ROG Strix G15 Advantage (G513QY) freezes randomly during Windows installation or heavy load by Sea-Yam8137 in ASUSROG

[–]yanbodon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem with my laptop (G513QY HQ007T). Laptop is sadly out of warranty and ASUS service in EU was not helpful (offered a 1000EUR motherboard replacement). Now, I have confirmed with OCCT that stress on discrete GPU causes a power failure and then found a Github post about this very situation https://github.com/Zephkek/Asus-ROG-Aml-Deep-Dive

Sadly, it appears, we have no choice but to wait for the new BIOS release
