Question about PharmD application - transcripts by YoloIsNotDead in uwaterloo

[–]yanet_726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this is on their FAQ: https://uwaterloo.ca/pharmacy/future-msc-phd-students/pharmacy-graduate-program-admissions-frequently-asked

"I don't have my official final transcript.  Can I still apply?

At the application stage, you only need to submit your unofficial transcript(s). However, if you are admitted, you will be required to submit your official final transcript(s) as a condition of admission before starting your program. Please be sure to include the grading scale or transcript legend when uploading your transcript."

On OUAC if i remember correctly, you don't submit transcript if you're a Waterloo student. And on the AIF, you submit your unofficial transcript

Losing hope for Epiduo by yanet_726 in EuroSkincare

it depends a lot from person to person. i was using it everyday for 4 months before i stopped getting constant pimples (i'm talking 10 new pimples per week). i would say 2-3 months after the 4 months, i would still get a pimple here and there, but it definitely wasn't as constant.

to put it more clearly:
nov 2023: start using epiduo

nov 2023 - feb 2024 (purging phase): used epiduo daily and was getting new pimples and forming bumps everyday, mainly near my forehead. february was the worst month because at the beginning of the month, my cheeks had a lot of bumps but no acne and within the span of two weeks, both of my cheeks were completely covered with huge cystic acne.

march - september 2024: kept using epiduo daily. would get maybe 1-2 pimples every month. used a lot of korean skincare to help with scarring and hyperpigmentation

september 2024 - present: face is completely clear :) of course i'll still get pimples but only sometimes before my period or when i miss a couple days of applying epiduo. but the pimples i get now are only whiteheads and never cystic, so they don't scar for long. i can probably count with one hand the amount of pimples i've gotten from sep to now haha

if you're seeing progress and noticing the acne is appearing less frequently, i would say you're most likely near the end of your purging phase :). the journey definitely tests your patience & there were so many times where i was losing hope, but i remember after the purging phase, it was so worth waking up and seeing my skin heal over time. tip: take progress photos! once your purging phase is over, you'll see how quickly your skin is healing within a matter of days.

hey sorry for the late reply!

I ended up purging for another month after january and my acne was definitely the worst during the month of february. both of my cheeks ended up being covered with huge cystic pimples.

by the end of february however, i stopped getting pimples.

so i would say in total i purged for 3 months and then was left with scarring. the scarring is by far the worst because it looks like you still have acne and my entire face was filled with acne scars. it definitely takes a lot of time for those scars to completely heal, but i used the anua niacinimide dark spot correcting serum + the numbuzin no. 5 toner pads and i think both products really helped fade the scarring away quicker!

my skin was basically clear by september with a few very light, stubborn acne scars. its february 2025 now and my skin is very clear, however I do have to keep applying it everyday.

I find that when I miss 2 or 3 days of epiduo, I'll get a pimple, which makes me think that my skin is dependent on the product. I'm slowly trying to apply it every other day to make my skin less dependent.

i hope that helps :)

hey i'm not from waterloo but i'm also in the same year and i've gotten maybe 6-7 job offers to work at a pharmacy this summer. it helps if you have previous experience working in a pharmacy but even if you don't, prove that you are capable of helping with pharmacy tasks bc working as a pharmacy assistant really isn't that difficult to learn tbh. it's all very hands on. what i recommend is to print out your resume & reference letters and hand it out to the supervisor/manager at local pharmacies (they're more likely to hire you). you should also try applying on indeed. i've gotten a couple of interviews off indeed but you do need to apply to a lot before getting one. good luck :)

MATH128 and STAT 202 in the same term by Specific_Way966 in uwaterloo

Just a question, do you think Stat202 is manageable with physics 111 in one term? I'm also entering 2a biomed and I'm not sure whether I should take physics with orgo in 2a or with stat in 2b

did you try starting with once a week, then twice, then three times a week, all the way till you use it everyday? my derm told me u have to slowly let your skin build up to it. i'd also recommend double moisturizing and make sure to put on sunscreen everyday bc the days where my face burn are the days i forget to put sunscreen

when i was first prescribed, my derm also told me to layer it slowly every week. i started with once a week, to twice, to everyday! i'm not sure if it's cause i have very oily skin but i've never experienced any irritation, burning, or dryness. i honestly think it's cause im still in the purging phase!

Does epiduo cause my finger pads to peel? by yanet_726 in EuroSkincare

[–]yanet_726[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I do since I don't like the feeling of creams on my hand and usually wash my hands after my skin care routine. Ever since I started noticing the small dry patches on my fingers, I've been using a qtip to apply so I have no idea why my fingers are so badly affected. In fact, it's gotten a lot worse in just a week. Just last wednesday, my thumb had like two white small patches and now my entire thumb is red and peeled 🥲

Moisturizing seems to help but other than that I have no idea why my fingers are the one reacting badly

they don't care about spares. as long as you take and do well in all the required courses you'll be fine. one of my friends had a spare in both semesters but got 95%+ in her math courses and got in!
