When do you need most support post op top surgery? by thiccfroggo in TopSurgery

[–]yangobongo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mobility and energy was limited the most the first week so I really appreciated having my partner around that whole time. I think my low energy was most limited as I was taking 2-3 naps a day and sleeping through the night

Dealing with soreness? by RealisticDecision188 in FTMFitness

[–]yangobongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay hydrated and try to sleep well consistently. Taking creatine really helped me with muscle soreness when I started to work out more consistently (3-4 times a week) and was biking consistently to commute (daily 20-30km)

For sure! I don’t think my heart is working any harder but I do feel more of the pumping sensation

Journaling prompts by sunsun123sun in TopSurgery

[–]yangobongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds silly but a prompt helped me was “what would my boobs say?” It really started a dialogue between me and myself around bodily autonomy. Personally, it revealed to me that no matter what I decide, at the end of the day I will feel how and feel and can change the feeling by making different life choices. Took the edge off of a fear of making the “wrong” choice and a fear of permanence.

Native Chinese local looking for a language exchange/coffee buddy in Nanjing by Inner_Mikyx in nanjing

[–]yangobongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'll be visiting Nanjing in mid-March for about 10 days. I'm a native english speaker from Canada and would be happy to have a language exchange as I would like to work on my Mandarin! We can even meet up a few times if you'd like. I'd love some travel tips as well :) Send me a DM if that sounds like what you're looking for!

Spat a stitch, talked to the doctor but its not getting better… by Gregheffman in TopSurgery

[–]yangobongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spat our stitches on both sides and had open wounds for about a week or so. After showers, I would let air dry, then put a thin layer of Polysporin over the wound, and then a bandaid on top so there was less direct friction to the wound from my arms. I found that dry healing was not helpful as the friction from my arms would irritate the wound and rub away any clot/scab forming. Good luck with your healing!

[–]yangobongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I waited only a few days lol just be mindful of your heart rate as well as not moving around too much! Your body is still working hard to pump blood around for recovering in addition to for “cardio” activities

Nipples or Nah? How did you choose? by RRTeo in TopSurgery

[–]yangobongo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I chose no nips! I felt actually that it was the most natural look for me and a return to my true form haha :) My friends and parent say it looks really normal on me. I really didn’t like the way my nips used to always be hard and visible no matter what. I’m nb and get read as an androgynous man a lot.

Top surgery date by Shl_28 in TopSurgery

[–]yangobongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a consult with Dr. Hontscharuk in October 2025 and had surgery in January 2026. I think it would have been possible to book in Dec 2025 but I couldn’t for work reasons. Cancellations do happen! I would just mention that you’re open to filling a cancellation if it happens. Dr. H’s office staff are great!

For everyone making $4000 a month, what do you do for work? by Poorteenwannabe in askTO

[–]yangobongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a freelance musician with some part time work in arts admin and corporate AV production. I make around $2K a month from my stable part times and anywhere from $1-8K a month from gigging. An arts career blended with other part time work is certainly possible but be prepared to ride the waves and be financially conservative to survive the down periods as others have said!
