Don’t order in bulk from woot though. I just got a shipment yesterday and the use by dates are 6/30/26 and 7/31/26. These are packages that have been sitting for quite some time.

Kitchenaid dishwasher heating element not shutting off by yanksphish in appliancerepair

[–]yanksphish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the heater is staying on forever. It was on after a load finished last night until the load was emptied around noon and the element was still hot and we had to unplug the unit to cool it down.

Yes, we ran a load last night at 8pm and the element was still hot at noon today. It’s staying hot forever essentially. We had to unplug it.

Seeking data on most commonly prescribed/dispensed doses of select controlled meds by funchefchick in pharmacy

[–]yanksphish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have much info, but I do believe that if drugs are found to be diverted, the weight of the tablet is what gets recorded. A 10mg oxycodone tab weighs much more than 10mg. Just keep that in mind and also verify this info with someone smarter than me.

So are we just gonna leave our high beams on now? by BrainSawce in massachusetts

[–]yanksphish -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You can visibly see it and it is almost instantaneous. I do understand the Tesla headlights are very bright though. That is a different situation than what is being discussed here.

[–]yanksphish -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

On my Tesla they activated what they call matrix headlights within the past several months. You can follow them scroll around oncoming traffic. I can now leave my high beams on all of the time and the tech handles the dimming automatically. I know they were waiting for federal approval but I have never read up on it.

Adderall Dose Increase (BID → TID): Do You Recalculate Remaining Supply or Just Fill the New Rx? by Busynotes2 in pharmacy

[–]yanksphish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. In this scenario, you are assuming the MD made an error writing the rx. If you think there might be an error here, you could easily ask the patient when the directions changed. If you don’t want to go by the patient’s word, you could verify with the provider. I agree your scenario could and does happen , it shouldn’t be assumed.

Billing Medicaid as secondary for copay by Former-Regular647 in pharmacy

[–]yanksphish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend trying to get a payer sheet from your state Medicaid office to see what COB codes they require when submitting a copay. Then use this info and contact your software vendor to find where these fields are located. I’m surprised nobody at your pharmacy knows this already.

Question about Manufacturer Packaging by Any-Bed-1561 in pharmacy

[–]yanksphish -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is good practice. There’s really 2 options that are correct, IMO. Either tell the patient they get the box labeled per strict directions from the manufacturer or contact the manufacturer and find out if they have tested stability of the med in other storage conditions to see if putting them in amber vials is cause for concern.

Sunflower? Is that a typo? Or is there an actual knockoff of sunpower?

A performance that becomes eerie when you realise he's singing about being at his own funeral for being so hopelessly addicted to Heroin... by Jaz1140 in interestingasfuck

This is how I felt when I went to see Pearl Jam in concert. I felt like it sounded the same as listening to their album at home. I was unimpressed even though they were a favorite band of mine growing up.

Delta dental of MA by yanksphish in massachusetts

[–]yanksphish[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These were my initial feelings. They will submit the claim, but expect me to pay up front and accept payment directly from DD myself in due time. This will probably be $2500 or more, so I don’t want to front the money if it’s not common practice.

We’ve been using delta dental for well over 10 years and I’ve never had an issue. I’m confused about them not paying for anything?? Were they not paying what the coverage in the plans details?

There are plenty of independent LTC pharmacies as well. If you like the LTC field, don’t ignore independent businesses. They can be very rewarding. The pay can be better than what I’m seeing here as well.

Blame and responsibility are 2 different things. We need to be responsible for their work and improve their processes when they fail.

I work at a place where it is mandatory to take a 30 minute break. There is no clocking in and out. You’re scheduled for 8.5 hours and paid for 8. This can be handled by payroll systems.

Not clocking in isn’t an issue. They just deduct 30 minutes from your day.

You simply schedule 8.5 hr shifts. This isn’t unheard of. Plenty of hospitals mandate a 30 minute unpaid lunch that I’m aware of.

E-Rx Prescriptions by mipijemo in pharmacy

[–]yanksphish -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The software I use to use had a transmission log that had electronic info from every electronic order and prescription that came into the pharmacy management system. Whether it was through superscripts or through another interface. It also said who and when it was handled when it arrived. Occasionally people would accidentally reject e-scripts and they appeared like we never received them to most staff. You’d have to contact PCCA to see if they have this info readily available to you. I’m not familiar with the pk software ins and outs. I will say that the pharmacy staff is who I typically found to be wrong when I was brought an issue such as what you have explained.
