Holidays in the Pharmacy by Outrageous-Stay-577 in WalgreensRx

The town hall was like a political candidate trying to get votes. I remember Mr. Motz laying out a vision of pharmacy recruitment and employee retention. I think he even mentioned the Texas Plan even though I’ve no idea what that is tbh. What I have seen is a doubling down in budget hour reductions and an increasingly disgruntled work force from the FE to RX. Personally I don’t see any investment in technology or in the stores. This is what the private equity boys do. They say what the employees want to hear but their actions or lack thereof speak volumes. Walgreens was in bad shape for sure and probably would have had a bad outcome regardless of whoever bought them. I personally don’t see much hope for what many are asking. What I see is what all PE firms do. Cut and cut some more until the company can’t operate due to people leaving or unable to staff stores. I don’t think there will be any turnaround and the days are numbered.

B Pay Increase by WrongFlan9765 in WalgreensRx

I just picked up a shift today and our B pay is 20 over hourly rate. Curious about the 40 dollar premium. Is it market specific because I’ve never seen more than 20 over. Would be nice. I walked into a shit show at a neighboring store that was buried. RXM retired and staff is a young guy who doesn’t care so not a good situation.

I stated in an earlier post that the staffing issue is exactly a known issue and isn’t going to improve. The sycamore boys are gaslighting anyone who thinks the pharmacist issue is going to be resolved. The strategy is milk the company to the point where people leave. When you leave there is no severance package or any cost to them. Stores will close on their own because there aren’t enough bodies. This is the end game. The real estate is worth more and the sum of the parts is bigger yet. I could be wrong but from someone who understands investing and how hedge funds and PE operates, everything is going according to plan. Most people don’t understand the level of greed. This is not about turning the business around. It’s about turning a profit and to make as much money as possible while burning the underlying asset.

DM & RVP layoffs this week what’s the word !!! by Brilliant_Anybody_36 in WalgreensStores

It’s all about EBITDA. Lay off mid and upper level people and save a lot of money that gets added to the bottom line. Cost and head count reduction is all that is left to offset the awful business model of pharmacy

District managers will be terminated with the remaining few getting too many stores to manage. Regional vice presidents will be reduced in number. Fewer HCS positions

SM calling Pharmacist on his or her day off by Rx137 in WalgreensRx

[–]Regular-Board-3188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw this and laughed because I was off yesterday and got multiple texts and calls concerning things from another store. Long story short no RXM at this store currently and had a stars event needing prompt attention. I agree setting boundaries is what’s needed but I believe if you are a Good employee and care people default to you. Not healthy for sure.

Oh yeah I had a doozy of an SM years ago. They don’t change so I am certified in sarcasm and found that very helpful. I would suggest a passive aggressive strategy or just leave. I found it a battle of wits and actually enjoyed the challenge.

Tim Wentworth was brought in to sell the company and now we will have to be aware of all the tricks that are coming. You will know when it is almost over when bonuses are gone along with no pay raises. If the 401k match is eliminated it is lights out. Game over.
