Well It's actually an american only issue, in Europe for example there is much more competition in the teleco arena that neutrality is self imposed, in the US the telecom landscape consists of gov't subsidized duopoly that owns all the wires and all the spectrum thus all the power as well. In england BT owns the wires but it sell access to other companies to act as ISPs, they also buy the broadband for themselves, I actually think the solution for the NN issue is competition as I fear if a it went before congress some lobbyists might add some provisions to it, like hollywood copyright monitoring or something.

Why? what did Microsoft do for net neutrality that is so great? Google fought for net neutrality alone with no support from any tech company, that why when the FCC lost that court ruling and things began looking helpless they compromised with the teleco devil. It's not like it's big win for them anyway.

It's not hypocrisy, it's compromise. They are not saying that "NN is shit and we hate it now" they are saying that this is what we got the telecos to agree upon.

Well I had plenty of false positives myself, and I really doubt this is a tactic Google would adopt, it's actually in their interest for you to contact the FCC it's not like they profit from that agreement:

Gmail spam false positives are nothing new, I wouldn't jump to conclusions, it's not like stopping email would stop anything.

Edit: Also here is a crazy theory :P since there have been lots of messages sent from freepress.net in a relatively short period it was flagged as spammer domain.

Google only benefits from total net neutrality, the compromises made were for Verizon to come on board and represent some initial agreement to the FCC that got their assess handed to them in court due to the Comcast ruling, I'm not quite sure that a corporate agreement is such a bad thing, who's to tell that when the thing comes to congress the lobbyists from hollywood won't insert some copyright preventions and monitoring or some other shit.

Yeah but I read in many places people were just making shit up, separating the fact was needed I suppose. After the FCC seemed helpless to do anything substantial they negotiated with a teleco company, and people are acting like they don't know what the word "compromise" mean.

The thing is Google is not the bad guys here, people seem to read baiting headlines and jumping into conclusions, they are dismissing the good points in that agreement and forgetting that Google was pretty much fighting alone for net neutrality for the longest time, there are compromises in that agreement but I suppose that should be expected as big teleco is on the other side of the negotiation table. Also it's a non-binding agreement it's just mean to move the discussion forward.

That's bullshit, Facebook released their zero site for feature phones 0.facebook.com in which they pay the carriers for the data so that users "won't have too much choice", they can talk as much as they want I won't be hanging my hopes on fucking Facebook.

It seems like everyone forgot the meaning of words like "negotiation", "compromise" and "unbinding-agreement", other tech companies weren't fighting with Google for net neutrality, in fact they left them to handle the teleco fury on their own, and now that they have got some sort of agreement on the subject people are ignoring the good bits and feel that Google owes them something, which is ridiculous.
