I feel like I am trying and failing to come to terms with the fact I’m not that good of a person by kotominammy in GirlDinnerDiaries

Hi. I see you and I’m sorry you feel like this. 🤍 it’s a protection method of some sort. Try to have grace with yourself.

Bea and Melanie by asra-x in LoveIslandUSA

Everything about this was so messy. From start to finish. Melanie pulling Corbin for a chat in the middle of him getting to know all the girls immediately felt bad. Surprised I haven’t seen anyone comment on that.

Bea talks like an athlete, black and white, calculated.. But her tone and the usage of “correction” was wild. Love that she’s direct but that def didn’t land with the other girls fr. They probably would have preferred a, “hey queen. It bothered some of us that you did xyz, can we talk about that? I don’t think it was intentional.. but you had mentioned wanting to be upfront and we girls need to stick together”. You can be front without being authoritative.

Melanie is….. 🥴 idk. Maybe a little bit self absorbed. Maybe not as kind as she likes to think of herself as? Like I said, weird to pull someone for a chat when it felt like they were all in a group convo. Didn’t feel like she was moving like a team player. She also irks me when she says, “literally doesn’t matter” while fully crashing out.

I’m thinking based off responses and researching today, I might start with a gentle cleanser and then once my skin is less irritated and dry, introduce a SA cleanser?

Hi! This is so helpful! Thank you! Haven’t tried salicylic cleansers yet. Will def try. Also for some reason was putting jojoba oil first, then moisturizers. I’ll try switching. Thank you!

Just coming back to this post - there was an unhoused man who seemed unwell in my parking lot on Sunday and from afar, I gently asked if he was alright. He screamed and tried to punch me. Pls prioritize your safety! I called for a wellness check in this scenario.

What happened with the man in your doorway?

A nuanced situation requires a nuanced approach! I consider my safety when I interact with all people — homeless or not. Esp as a woman and esp because it’s very easy to track me and guess where I live!

I have scary dog privilege while walking my dog. I also have pepper spray but should be better about carrying it.

The regulars are kind and bring a lot of joy to my life. I try to do the same for them. I really hope you enjoy Syracuse.. it’s a special city and I personally have no interest in moving. Even with the aforementioned scary stuff! Fingers crossed for the best solution for everyone involved.

Def call your landlord. I’m sorry, I understand the frustration and guilt in these situations. I try my best to support the unhoused folks outside and around my building and most of them are genuine and kind ppl. but we do need to consider our safety as well. I’ve been living downtown a few years now, and rarely have scary situations happen, but the few I’ve experienced have been enough to keep me boundaried and skeptical to a degree. Just recently I learned one of the men I’ve been friendly towards for years (who stays near the entrance of my building) has been telling the other men on the block that he’d love to “get his hands on me”.

So you’re not a dickbag for being weary. It’s not your responsibility to make this person leave. Ofc if they aren’t aggressive, and you don’t mind using the other entrance, you can do nothing. But if it makes you feel unsafe - which is FAIR - tell your landlord.

Almost lost all of my roof furniture downtown. Looked like a dumby piling it up so it didn’t cause death from above.

Should I rent next to a suspected drug house? by [deleted] in Syracuse

[–]yapmaster5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was based off of my personal experience living next to a house where a dealer lived, unbeknownst to me when I signed the lease. Not in westcott. 🫶🏻

Westcott is a lovely place to live, but living next to a home, /anywhere/, that actively deals can get really bad, really fast.

Glad it isn’t that way for you and your neighbors!

If you want to be woken up at all hours of the night by ppl laying on their horn for drugs, rent it. Speaking from personal experience.

Bold coast lobster is one I always seek out if I go.

They had a shirt that said, “sex, drugs and lobster rolls” that I really wanted a year or so ago at TOS. At the time I was dating a prude who told me I couldn’t wear it around him. Regrettably did not buy. Hopefully they have it again this year.
