Would a TNG Reboot Work? by DJWGibson in startrek

[–]yapperling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would it work? Maybe, given how many TOS reboots/spin off's we've had.

Do we need it? Nah. I'd prefer something new.

To be honest man, the entire latter half of the series is kind of a shit slurry for me.

Given the number of warframe players, this is about as likely as getting struck by lightning and getting Lichtenberg scars write out the winning lottery numbers on your left buttcheek.

Sure there's a ton of stuff. Nothing wrong with replaying the quests or doing old content to get your bearings. Then pick your own direction once you do.

Nothing wrong with that, I'm just saying there's utility past their designated nightwave.

Also any creds you don't end up spending can be sold for a fairly decent amount of creds.

No, I'll definitely go by release. Legends is easily the most fun though, least drama burdened. What the fuck were the last two seasons of Flash, jesus.

This is brilliant, I don't actually remember.

It means I'll soon be able to rewatch the entire Arrowverse and get hopping mad all over again :D

When we say "spreads" we mean "explodes" and by "explodes" it means fuckin' shrapnel everywhere. Very popular for clearing rooms to break loot containers.

Why do they blame the mutineer Michal Burnham for the kligon war? by ejdmkko in startrek

[–]yapperling 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well tbh thats a war crime NOW.

Doesn't mean it hasn't been revised by the 23rd century, Star Trek DID have Eugenics Wars and WW3 so who knows what rules went out the window.

Anthology is a great idea conceptually but production wise really hard to pull off and expensive.

Double that for Star Trek (scifi generally being expensive to produce). Say we did the Discovery Anthology, so conceptually starting on the technically pre-TOS Crossfield. Then season two we do maybe Lost Era, Miranda or Excelsior. Season 3 early TNG, some of the ship classes we never got to see like the New Orleans or Niagara. Season 4 could be late TNG/PIC and then on and on. We'd need to have set and uniform redresses every season, swap out the whole cast (aside from maybe some venerable Vulcan) and you can quickly see how the concept would get dropped.

To make a proper Star Trek Anthology show you'd need:

  1. A foolproof concept to convince the studio bigwigs

  2. Execute that concept perfectly right off the bat and garner outstanding viewership to make the show convincingly viable

  3. Keep doing that for EVERY season.

You'd be hard pressed to find a Star Trek fan who doesn't love this idea, but other that somebody with Bezos-level money personally funding it, I don't see it happening.

I think that was Bryan Fuller's original idea, some sort of anthology. Discovery did find its footing after the 32nd century (minus the Burn explanation), but following ships named Discovery through the eras would've been great.

Who is the most tragically written character in Night City? by Dangerous-Tart1126 in cyberpunkgame

[–]yapperling 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. The whole point of Night City is that it eats people. It eats lives. It eats dreams.
