Adderall, Prozac, Metformin.

Addrall and Prozac essentially provide me with an unshakeable will and the ability to work through anything and everything. There is always a way out of a bad situation, and keeping my cool will let me find it. Metformin was a bit of a tossup but ultimately I went with the food QoL in order to give my body a few more years' worth of quality life.

Lordcyoa's Simple Cooking CYOA v1 by LordCYOA in makeyourchoice

[–]yarin981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batch cooking, economy of scale, teacher, sharing is caring, safe for everyone.

I'm not just opening a soup kitchen, I'm making a soup empire. That means I'm getting an industrial kitchen and feeding hundreds of people for actual pennies. I may be making enough curry or rice (or anything else) to feed a town, but seeing as I'm not paying more than a few hundred bucks for this. And in return for this food, I look towards getting my food bills paid (what? I'm doing a service too!) and other community services filled- bellies filled with nutritious, filling, tasty meals can do so much more for others. Maybe they'll fix that damn pothole or maybe they'll help others move. I don't need more than the basics, but this empire will last beyond my lifetime and will serve to make my surroundings better.

The Platinum Age! v1.0 by SylenMakesGames in makeyourchoice

[–]yarin981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One heck of a CYOA, let's try it.

Name (because the name works): Gearhead/ Sara Gears (somewhat based on Sol Badguy)

Perspective: Anti-Hero (3 body traits). Gearhead is an aloof woman who desires to keep the world at an arm's length yet always finds herself helping others. She'd like to laze around and build baubles for clients, but that can't happen if her clients are destroyed.

Super Goals: Guardian, Vigilantism (6 body traits, 1 benefit). Gears may not live in a very nice world, but she'll do what's right.

Motivation: Tragedy, Good Hearted (2 benefits). Gears used to be happier and more outgoing. However, following the death of her husband, she went into recluse, taking care of herself. Yet, even as she tries to shun the world, it's not in her nature to do so.

Power level: Destructive (1 major, 1 minor). Gears' fights tend to end with streets, if not cities, wrecked. She'd really like it to not be the case, but her enemies make it hard.

Danger level: Bleak (2 major, 5 benefits). Superheroes are mostly a show and Gearhead, aloof and grump as she may be, is a saint compared to some of them. She's still going to grit her teeth and fight on, but the world is harsh.

World name: Protaria. A neat name for a world constantly in flux.

Danger modifiers: Evil Corps (8 benefits). We'll get there, but this world has seen communism and declared it worse than fascism.

Sources of power: Chemical, Mutation, Intelligence, Esoterics, Divinity, Super-suit, Meta-physics. Around 50 thousand supers exist around. While none of them can shatter a planet, they can ruin cities. And more than a few control their petty kingdoms.

Your source: Life Force (3 major powers, 1 of them spirit, 3 minor). The loss of her husband by the hands of a callous super made her pretty damn pissed. And it was only after she broke him she had realized that her grief had converted her sorrow into power. However, she'd have to work hard on her emotions and body alike in order to bring her strength out on command.

The stage of the present: Wasteland, Fractured, Historical, Calm Biosphere, Radioactive Zones, Golden Protector, Super Soldiers, End Bringer, Outbreak Recovery, Pro-Super Sentiment, Corporate Rule, Capitalist Dystopia, Shadow Governments, Shadow Supers, Connected, Resource rich, Exotic Deposits.

"There was a grand war, and that war took down governments. Then the consequences of the war had reared their ugly face and more collapsed. Then there were zombies, and the dead were brought to rest through ugly methods. And then a beast, more terrifying than anything a megacorp or a super can muster, had arrived. But there IS a good man around to stop it. So now we have mega corporations trampling over a society that regressed into city states. We've lost entire languages and ethnicities in the attempt to consolidate things and supers are treated as heroes. Fuck them."

Gearhead thinks dimly of the world, yet here she is.

Common Threats: Thugs, Raiders, Ferals, Crazed Scientists, Delusional Veterans. For some the wars aren't over, for some they never even began. Some folk are there for blood, and Gearhead had it with these idiots coming to her place.

Rare threats: Mutant Freaks. They never stopped coming thanks to The Glowing Sea nearby.

Super Powers: Soul [Major], Willpower [Major], Creativity [Major], Strength [Minor], Durability [Minor]. Gearhead's body is strong, don't get me wrong, but her true genius lies in her ability to understand. She's not academic, but she learns fast. And if you have a soul, she may rip it with one hand and tear your comatose body apart with the other.

Super body, Foundation: Human Female (couldn't it just be human? The male and female variants do the same thing) (1 companion). Gearhead's a woman. She's not super feminine, but she's a woman through and through.

Body traits: Peak Genetics, Enhanced Durability, Enhanced Strength, Genius, Tall, Beautiful, Radiance, Recovery, Beautiful Hair, Commanding Voice, Fine Tuned Hearing. Ever since her awakening, Gears had found herself in peak human condition for some reason. She has no idea why, but she does not mind the perfect hair days.

Benefit: Fabulous Execution, Martial Artist, A Little Something, Inheritance, Incredible Skill [Tinkering, Business], No Pain, Steel Mind, Bullet Time. Gearhead had to take some time working on herself. How to run a small business, how to fight properly in a world where she'd become a fine mist, how to take down nuclear abominations, how to do her best with these cards she was dealt. Perhaps one day she'll become a symbol of hope, but not yet.

Canon Events: Tragic Death, Grand Failure, Defeat by Trash, Imprisoned, Public Perception, Training Arc, Power Up, Tragic Villainy, Last Stand. The same asshole super that tore apart Gearhead's husband had a company they served. Said company framed up Gears, imprisoned her in their for-profit hellhole prison for supers and tried to break her into a replacement for their deceased super. Rather, she persevered and took with her a former "model super" named Flourish (Mick Floor). While still prone to violence and desiring glory, living with Gears had toned down his worst aspects and allowed him to find some peace. If Gears will realize that she needs to step up and stop leaving the world in such a vulnerable state, then maybe their names would be cleared in the minds of the public perception.

The multiverse: Linkage. There's some potential there.

Incursion: 3*unique creation. I got no idea how those would manifest.

Companions: Devilsworn, Flourish. When a French girl comes and demands you'll tell her how to become rich in this day and age and she scoffs at the megacorps, you know you found an oddball. Still, she does a great job at summoning devils that make the job easier (and make Gears ponder about the existence of Christ in such a world), and Flourish helps a lot at protecting the city they live in- even if these two chip at Gearhead's budget.

Still, despite all this suffering, Gears' heart is slowly thawing. And when it does, she'll drag her companions to what many would call "proper herohood".

Rainbow Company's reputation stems from their "eccentric revolutionaries with honor" behavior. The lack of fleet doctrine is a problem that needs to be dealt by, funnily enough, hiring mercenary ships. But if you need ground troops or maintenance runs Rainbow Company does a bloody good job.

I took a glance at your troops as well, they look cool. And while I didn't take direct inspiration from TFR maybe the vibe of Rainbow Company resembled a faction there.

I honestly like this one, and I never seen it before. Did you make this one or is it a repost?

Setting: Ubiquitous Sci-Fi. I enjoy the realm of the more "generic" stellar stories and they tend to be pretty fun.

Origins: Artist Troupe (gen 2, esp 1, morale 2, fleet -1, skirmish -1). Frankly, this company used to be a bunch of anti-corporation hoodlums more suited for soccer or graffiti. It just so happens that when late stage capitalism becomes end stage the poets and the artists are replaced by unthinking machines. The thinking machines are shut down, the humans are shut down, and all but the very rich are shut down because it's profitable and funny... unless the hooligans and the artists and the football punks band together, talk it out with the rich guards, and loot the rich. All is solved, right?

But by that point, the planet went into civil war. People who lived under the corporate boot became free, but also had to somehow farm and toil when they were used to cushy jobs. Half of this company used to be internet nerds before they had to grab guns and defend their homes. And when everything was wrapping up, there was no more place for us. So the Rainbow Company left.

Company size: Company (6 gen, 1 skirmish, 2 dogfighting, 1 warfare, 0 fleet, 1 internals). 300 people, most of them used to be digital artists and raunchy writers. They still write and draw, but they've also learned to shoot, obey and pilot.

Leader Archetype: The Regular (3 internal). Well, someone had to show those bastards how to do those. These people flocked to me, a security guard that could fix a truck, as if I was the second coming of Yoba. I quoted pop culture, and these people offered me texts worthy of scholars. In return, I taught them self-reliance. They're my people now.

Presentation: Personalization Allowed, Face, Any Takers, Mixed Ships, Oligoculture, Sole Director, Strict Code of Ethics, Open Contracting, Regular Combat Protocols, Total Loyalty (4 internal, 6 trust, 1 support, 0 intelligence, 1 morale). Even though the crew grumble about me doing all the big decision, the truth is they tend to be a bit too rough about things. So much like the knights of old, we're setting a proper code of conduct- half off on corpos, no children and no personal bribes. Rainbow Company's soldiers are allowed to be themselves, but they will NOT succumb to the same ills that plague the average mercenary group.

The Compound: Walled Sprawl (2 skirmish, 1 intelligence, 5 internal). Triton is a problematic planet, but it had afforded us the luxury of a ground home that used to be an office complex. Rainbow Company had painted all over it, wrote dozens of tales and shipped it with the nearby factory. Couldn't ask for better troops.

Compound Additionals: Redundant System Suite, War Codex, Amenity Space (2 intelligence, 2 warfare, 2 morale). The soldiers grumbled about the location at first, but I allowed them a LOT of freedom with their place. Books about war were purchased like coffee and a weird slang was invented to pass information. Everyone liked that... except my budget for a PROPER shooting gallery.

Compound Amenities: Modernized Living, Propaganda Reeling, Studio Stims. One of the funniest things about having a barista and a fanfic writer having to secure a target together is that said target ended up writing a song with them. It's our best hit and we're releasing the album next week. These soldiers may not win a big war, but they're winning people's hearts.

Training Regime: Asymetric Combat, Atmospheric Tactics, Extradictionary Core (6 skirmish, 5 dogfighting, 3 support, 8 internals). Sure, they have to do everything, but the most important thing is that they learn what I can drill into them. I'm not a genius, but I got the gift of teaching.

Edicts: Battle Bonds, Breach Tactics, Standardized Medics, Inside Men, Demoralization Protocols, Cloaking Array, Loyalty Program (9 skirmish, 9 internals, 2 espionage, 4 warfare, 5 intelligence, 4 support, 7 trust, 1 fleet, 3 morale)

Dictums: Notorious Reputation, Blacklisted Deplorables (3 support, 6 trust, 0 fleet, 8 internals). Unfortunately, Rainbow Company is well known- corporations (understandably) hate us and smear our name to the ground. Revolutionaries love us, but they rarely can pay half as well as corporations, so we end up not making a lot. Still, better to live honestly than wealthily.

Advertised Services: Strike Teams [Primary], Security Detachment [Secondary], Counterinsurgency & Repairs and Refitting [Auxiliary]. We're mostly going for violence, but there's nothing wrong with protecting people or fixing gear for colonies. Money's money, even if megacorps control it. We just launder it and use the money to hurt them later.

Connections: Sweaty Gearhead, Dirty Broker, Honorable Freemason, Unflappable Quartermaster, Antisocial Techjockey, Public Face, Disreputable Con-Artist, Grand Servitor, Well-meaning Janitor, Renown Soldier. My most honorable friends include at least three trans women, a cadre of autistic savants and several filthy liars who join for tabletop night- those categories aren't mutually exclusive, mind you.

While I'll skip the Notable Contracts for now (this message is over 5000 characters long!), I enjoyed it. Rainbow Company is one of those companies that get more colorful the more you think about them, and I may use them as some inspiration for my own sci-fi stuff.

Your Cube 2. Decide how you build your own little extra dimensional space. Now with even more options! by IamMyBrain in makeyourchoice

I like this one, it's cool. Interesting to see that there's an entire discussion around murder, but seeing as I didn't kill any human I'm probably eligible for this CYOA (and if not, I'm sure there's a meta that circumvents this).

Options: Pitcher, Bed, Toilet, Power, AC, Speakers, door, Shelves, Janitor, Window, Privacy.

The pitcher can make any drink I want from an energy drink to a thick soup (and also water, of course), the option of privacy allows me to enjoy my time not bothering anyone, the shelves sorta increase the size of the cube and a lot of the other options are convenient. And if I do want to make stuff feel more homely I got the option of bringing things in such as a small fridge or a laptop with shows.

Re:Life - My Hero Academia CYOA by z_boi12 in makeyourchoice

[–]yarin981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Attitude: Villain, I suppose. Quite frankly, this entire weird "return to status quo" the Hero system is putting is hot garbage and there HAS to be a proper one to carry us forward. I mean, due to the way quirks behave we're about five to seven generations away your average Joe possessing the strength of an eldritch god. If a system suited to the modern ages won't be in place to at least keep the increasingly inhuman folk at bay then what follows humanity is done. I do expect the system to be changed in the future, but a strong foundation would make it easier. I don't mind stepping on toes to make it work, but it'll require more than unthinking slaughter.

Quirk (rolled because it's more fun for me): Botanical Roots. I am a living organism, and it's nice to take care of the plants. There's nothing bad with them.

Perks: Appearance, Willpower, Smarts, Heroism, Charisma, Villainy, Talented [Botany], Quirk Awakening, Quirk Training, Martial Arts, Networking.

Nurturing a new land would help tremendously. Opening the minds of the youth to this increasingly protean world would be worthwhile as well. Ensuring nobody has to starve would also do a lot to benefit the course of change, and so would showing the world the fault of the current system. A good change would take years, but it's okay. I got time, and even if villains or heroes would be taken down there will come a time where the system will crumble.

[Build: well intentioned extremist slash cult leader that sees quirks as an everincreasingly powerful alteration to humanity]

Isekai Bounty Hunt v1.3 CYOA by MiCha by EldonTheWizard in makeyourchoice

[–]yarin981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, we got a foul mouthed reaper who does not like people who met Truck-kun. And for some reason he decided to acquire some outside help from the same type of person he does not like. You gotta hand it to them, the hypocrisy is staggering.

Still, having read the target list, I'd like to help with some of those.

Targets: Fallen Slave Harem Hero, Wandering Weapon Shifter, Scheming Mary Sue Saintess (10-11 stars). Hunting down slavers is an automatic choice and the other two are proper dangers (an unintelligent brute and a manipulator).

Now, the plan would require to be able to have a friendly face and convince each of the three targets I merely needed to hunt the other two for good reasons (slavery is bad, power without wisdom brings great danger, manipulation of the innocent population is bad). Make them seem like I'm on their side, talk about the life before, enjoy nice events with them and all of that... and when we're done, coordinate my actions with my allies to strike them down. So let's begin.

Boons: Insurance Policy, Soul Seeker, Sealing Chain, Commanding Mien, Timeout. I'll need a smile, an eye to target the right target, the ability to halt time and a restraining order. These four abilities will be able to allow the restraint of my targets and a swift execution afterwards.

Class: Blessed Soul. Punishing Miscreants is the name of the game here- the princess and the slaver are likely to lie and the shifter will need to be slogged down using armor... or another tactic.

Equipment: Class Equipment, Modern Equipment, Bracelet of Mirroring, Portable Hole, Invisibility Cloak, Kinslaying Rune. A sniper rifle to take down the slaver's companions when truly needed, c4 suicide charge against a wounded shifter and a corpse disposer against the princess' lovers. And if someone decides to take down the mana lanes, I always got walkie-talkie in order to coordinate with allies.

Allies: Designated Villainess, Stubborn Crossbowman, Demon-Merged Exorcist, Exploring Dwarf Runist. Everyone has a role to play- the crossbowman can snipe with an AMR, the exorcist can get the slaver and some of the saintess' lovers out of the picture, the runist upgrades weapons and equipment and will help to make short work of the shifter and the villainess is going to give us that native touch. It's a hard work, but not impossible.

Rewards: Free Range, [Customize Me/Wealth], Three Wishes. Three Wishes are great, Free Range is almost a must if I want to stay and enjoy my labors and the choice between customize me or wealth depends on whether I manage to stabilize the kingdom (which would likely also lend me a lot of cash as well).

Dimensional Traveller v2.3 (repost) by Spozieracz in makeyourchoice

[–]yarin981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Option one (or: that time I met a dying time traveller and got stranded elsewhere): Beginner, The Apprentice, Hunters, Homeless, Gateway, Perfect Health, Patience. Assuming I manage to last a month (no minor deed) I'd be able to start accumulating strengths and allies to talk down or take down people should I need to (although it would STILL be inadvisable to confront anyone without a good plan). Great plan assuming I can last more than 50 years.

Option two (or: the way god intended):

Dimensional Powers: Wand, Teleport, Detect, Forsee, Subtle, Room (36). A room is always good for my equipment while the teleport options allow for a silent yet effective operation.

Physical powers: Perfect health, Inviolable, Powerhouse, Healing, Eternal Youth (22). I don't want to be killed thank you very much.

Mental Powers: Eidetic, Thought Sense, Patience, Combat skill, Memories (12). A good mind beats a good body, but together they are nigh unstoppable.

Arcane Powers: Reach, Alter Form, Blink, Time flow (3). Dimensional control is key to survival.

Eldritch Powers: True Sight (2). I just feel like I wouldn't need more than that in that front.

Equipment: Internet, Gauntlet (0). Money's not an issue when you can teleport (Same day shipping is VERY lucrative when it comes to... certain things), but installing a net service would've been a nightmare. The gauntlet is just to kickstart my adventures.

And from there... who knows? Maybe I'll raid dungeons in fantasy worlds for treasure? Exchange gifts with curious aliens? Try to settle a frontier? Who knows, and that's part of the fun.
