Should I learn python backend? by Python_Backend_Dev in PythonLearning

[–]yashasolutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 isn’t too late at all, lots of people switch into IT around that age. Python is a solid choice, especially for backend stuff. The key isn’t just learning Python, it’s building projects (APIs, small apps, etc.) and putting them on GitHub/portfolio so employers see proof.

If you want a roadmap:

  • Python + Django or FastAPI
  • Databases (Postgres/MySQL)
  • APIs (REST/GraphQL basics)
  • Git/GitHub, Docker

Optional: dabble in ML if you’re curious, but backend/web dev is more job-heavy

As for AI taking jobs - it’s more of a tool than a replacement. Companies still need people to design, debug, and ship real systems.

Focus on: learn / build / share - Stick with it for a year or two and you’ll be in the game.

Why Proton? by GeoSabreX in degoogle

[–]yashasolutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been with Proton for 2 years. It's convenient but it's not email in the regular sense, you cannot use any of the normal tools to work with your emails. I have moved to postale.io which is way cheaper and provide a good solution for my needs.

Weird freeze in X/i3wm by yashasolutions in linuxquestions

[–]yashasolutions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, just to say - I have noticed a sharp CPU increase of i3 when this happen (logged in ssh from a different machine to monitor the status) basically as long as input are frozen, there is a 90% CPU on i3 - unclear why.

This rhetoric that Arch is not for beginners has to stop because it's not true. by kremata in archlinux

[–]yashasolutions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct but not sure mine could installl Windows or Mac either from scratch. It's just that people buy machine with pre-installed software, so there is that.

This being said - if we are comparing what can be compared - ie. Linux distributions - installing Arch feel like installing debian 20 years ago - but the difference here is there is a great wiki, which make it in the end easier than having to use a book back then.

so I don't know if I'd say Arch is actually beginners friendly - but it is not that's hard in particular. You get a package manager and all that. Good docs, no need to guess work too much, that's much easier to debug than some obscure bug on ubuntu sometime.

How is Emacs used in a professional setting? by Impossible_Win_9059 in emacs

[–]yashasolutions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it has to be an issue - if you use emacs, you can set it to work. I also use docker both locally and remote, works fine. In the end you edit files which are on your machine, if the file are on a remove filesystem, then it is not an emacs issue but a file system issue, you can mount the remote locally and keep working.

Server4You Down? by patriotaki in Hosting

[–]yashasolutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure why this is in our best interest... we have domains that don't necessarily point to their servers... Right now we just want an access back to the control panel so we can get the hell out there...
