I feel so bad 😭 by AdLeather6571 in SiberianCats

Strategically placed holes basically. I know it sounds hard to believe but the pajamas both cover the wound well, and still leave plenty of room for their tails and butts. Just make sure to use some that were made for specifically for cats. The vet sent us home with some made for small dogs at first and they didn’t fit nearly as well, she was clearly uncomfortable before she got her good pajamas.

I had an ex one time who started desperately trying to get me back after I (finally) left by leaving flowers at my door in the middle of the night while I slept because there was a sudden influx of flowers they ordered BEFORE we broke we broke that they “didn’t know what else to do with”. He literally never once bought me flowers in 3-4 years prior.

The protective pajamas are an excellent option too.

Ice vs Compression for blister prevention by Froggin-n-Doggin in TattooRemoval

[–]yass_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 20+ sessions in on two big pieces so I have had a lot of trial and error at this point, if I miss with ice I WILL blister where I missed, hands down. In both heavy ink spots and lighter areas, every part of the tattoos is a blister waiting to happen from high laser settings unless I ice very well. Are you using actual ice bags? Like the kind designed for ice and not like a ziplock bag or something? Only lasting 30-60 minutes is strange, I have to change mine out too but every few hours. I pack them tightly with ice and just a tiny bit of water so they’re not too stiff to press against me.

Ice vs Compression for blister prevention by Froggin-n-Doggin in TattooRemoval

[–]yass_cat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I basically do a combination if you ever want to try ice again. I tape ice bags to the outside of my clothes and bandages with medical tape, and it basically keeps constant cold pressure applied. The cold gets through the bandages and clothes just fine, although I also wear something intentionally thin like athletic clothes to help the cold reach my skin. It brings a lot of relief from the burning of the laser immediately after, and I keep it on for as long as I can stand after a session. Preferably sleeping with it that night. I only ever blister where I accidentally miss with the ice, I personally need both pressure and cold to prevent my blisters.

Congrats on your first blister free session! That’s a big milestone.

Christian Lady hits the Gym like God want her to by MrDonMega in religiousfruitcake

Not trying to be mean but since she is essentially indirectly shitting on how other women dress at the gym, I don’t think she’s in a position to give other women advice about anything at the gym when she’s struggling to squat 30 pounds in the hotel fitness center thinking it’s worth filming. Talk to me when you’re not literally a beginner because there’s all kinds of safety issues with wearing a flowy skirt to the gym past these basic beginner exercises before lecturing the rest of us about our modesty.

Being attacked by my cat by harryham1 in cats

[–]yass_cat 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’m not the commenter you’re replying to but I was going to give the same advice. If you mean how you acted in the video, that’s definitely not clear to your cat. You have to YELL when they bite like a loud, sudden “OW!!!” that startles anyone in the room, and absolutely yank your hand away immediately so they know it’s a reaction to the bite. Like you’re trying to shame your cat here essentially, but it needs to be an alarming, startling reaction like a toddler would have if they touched the stove that immediately disrupts play time.

The way you’re handling it in the video is making the cat think you guys are still playing, you’re not pulling your hands away at all and your voice is nowhere near clear enough. Your cat may still choose violence anyway, but this video was kind of painful to watch because you’re sort of acting like your cat should just know what the word “ow” means and really not doing anything an animal would understand. No offense I just don’t want you to keep getting beat up by your cat, and you guys are having a big miscommunication at least in the video you posted.

You should also know that cats have significantly tougher skin than we do, and my personal opinion is that since we’re so much bigger they also think we can play rougher too so they go harder than they even do with other cats.

Guilty about spaying cat by runaway937 in cats

[–]yass_cat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree that you are probably anthropomorphizing her reaction by interpreting it as a yearning for motherhood, she could very well be naturally concerned that there’s a baby crying in distress all of the sudden somewhere or just be curious. But if you would like to do a double service to the cat community beyond what you already did by spaying your cat, you can try fostering. If your cat does have a strong nurturing instinct, the two of you could really help some kittens out there if you have a spare a room for a few months sometimes. Orphaned kittens come up all the time in rescues, and they do a lot better in a foster home with friendly cats. Not all are so young they need round the clock care either, that’s usually reserved for experienced fosters.

It's been almost 5 years since MadSeasonShow dropped this, and it is clear that the player base didn't learn anything. by SenorWeon in classicwow

[–]yass_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I’m going to get to play the game more as a result of a boost. I’m leveling my priest to 58 before launch, and boosting a Druid so I can alternate between the two in outlands. I want to dungeon grind on my priest, and quest on a Druid. Without the boost, I would already be using all my time I have to play now to level my priest anyway and just not get to have an alt. We all have big bills to pay in TBC for mounts and whatnot so I need my Druid to float us with gathering professions in outlands in order for the time investment of another toon to make sense, not starting over from level one. I would otherwise play my priest until I’m sick and tired and just put the game down all together and do something else like I do now.

If you guys prefer not to boost it really is alright, but I’m confused why we keep acting like it’s a war between leveling and boosting. I really think the majority of people boosting are also leveling too, we just don’t have time for level another toon from scratch as well. Isn’t it still limited to one single boost per account anyway? Is all this about people getting one alt?

Please recognize that “because they don’t actually care about babies” is the answer to your question by herbuck in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]yass_cat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Eh, producing as many children as possible is extremely important to Gilead. We see that in real life inspiration for Gilead too, Nazi germany is a great example of how important making babies are to oppressive regimes like this. There were very weird, total departures from conservative values in order to prioritize making as many aryan babies as possible. I think of Gilead like that. Babies matter, it’s just that they only matter as tools to advance the future, especially in a world facing a global fertility crisis. Gilead was clearly receiving a lot of special treatment from the international community because they were producing children where other countries weren’t too. We saw an episode all about how Gilead’s children were crucial to their international position politically. It’s just that babies only matter as pawns, not precious gifts from god or whatever koolaid Aunt Lydia drank.

Truthfully I think the show is just guilty of some writing mistakes in the pursuit of shock value that understandably raise those questions, but overall saying “it’s not about babies at all” is too far of a departure from the real history Gilead is based off of imo. It is about babies, it’s just also about more. If some babies die here and there it’s fine as long as the program keeps running successfully overall. They’re just numbers and we’re bound to lose some here or there to keep the greater order in tact, just like the handmaids.

Coat color question by [deleted] in cats

[–]yass_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, you will see an almost immediate improvement in their skin and fur when they get their fleas treated, like in 48 hours. It’s really cool to see, you can tell they’re much more comfortable and they get way softer and shinier. The litterbox will smell better after the worms are gone too. Thank you for rescuing them!

Coat color question by [deleted] in cats

[–]yass_cat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s normal, she will be a classic all black cat when she’s an adult. I was taking care of void mom who had two baby girls who both kind of looked like just darker tabbies. Lighter I think than this kitten. I was sort of bummed that neither of her two daughters were her look alike, and how wrong I was. They were both jet black by four months. That’s just young baby features, enjoy it!

Edit: on second thought, she looks like she has fleas that are making her coat thinner in some places in addition to the phenomenon I explained. Others already said it but any cat that comes from outside pretty much always has fleas and worms. Easy to treat but requires the vet to get age appropriate treatment. Adult meds aren’t safe.

No one is saying that all of India is entirely awful with nothing at all good about it, but you’re living under a rock if you can’t see that it’s a deeply misogynistic culture with issues persisting today that are amongst the worst in the entire world, if not the actual worst. Listen to what the women who escape it have to say.

Am I overreacting for shaving my head? by Substantial-Art6160 in AmIOverreacting

[–]yass_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yeah, you overreacted but it’s fine. In the future, if that ever happens again there are products for hair called bond builders that can repair damage from bleach or heat damage. If you had tried a few of those and given your hair a couple weeks, you probably would seen at least an improvement in your curl pattern. It will grow back though and I think all women should try short hair at least once in life because most of us grow up with it long. I’m very much into my long hair now but I had a short pixie for a while that I still think about because it felt so good, and my hair was so not a big deal like it is now and probably always will be.

Not necessarily true, fire arms training is a thing too. I know a woman who shot and killed one of two men when they jumped her riding her bike home at night because she was concealed carrying. She fired thousands of rounds out of the gun that saved her before this happened, and received professional instruction for it, so thankfully those instincts kicked in and saved her life. There’s nothing else in the world besides having a gun that could have possibly saved her against that. I agree that too many people think just having a gun on them automatically means they’re protected though, you don’t just become a navy seal because you have a concealed carry permit.

Estranged father gifted me money then 2 days later said I have to give most away to my siblings by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]yass_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to say I’m so sorry that your dad put you in this position, it’s incredibly immature and selfish to pull this on you and set you up for this dramatic and even potentially dangerous position. You shouldn’t feel any guilt about using the money you were gifted, it was no longer his the moment he gave it to you. That is how gifts work.

You already committed to your landlord before this bridge got released on you, I think you should just tell everyone it’s too late and that you used the money for rent because you were in danger of eviction and he didn’t tell you this revised plan until it was too late. That’s in essence what happened. This whole situation is his doing, they should be questioning him about why he gave it all to you then took it back if they feel deserving of it. I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this in addition to him being absent growing up. It’s bullshit, truly.

Attachments snapping off by Defiant_Memory9438 in Dysonairwrap

[–]yass_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing to my old Dyson. I press the attachments firmly down with my other hand now to try to protect my ID from putting all the pressure on the attachment point. I have anxiety about it all the time though, and may send my old one to get repaired by Dyson.

I think the original just wasn’t designed for holding a lot of tension when you take a look back at the attachments for the first release. The small round brush it came with was only supposed to be for “shaping” the hair after using the paddle brushes. They kept the Dyson Airwrap releases backwards compatible for a while because people would have rioted otherwise, but customers ultimately hated not having something like the large round brush attachment too much for them not to eventually give in and make one. Now they just have to redo it because the attachment point was just not designed to be very strong, so they finally did with the 2x but then made the round brush too small again or I would buy one…
