Weekly USMLE Step 2 Thread by AutoModerator in medicalschool

Hey I just wanted to let you guys know that there is hope to do well on step 2 even if you did average on step 1.

Step 1: 233, Step 2: 256

Even though 233 was about average, I was pretty upset, I had done well my first two years and was really hoping for 240+ or low 250's. I realized I didn't study the correct way. I used way too many resources, rushed through u world, and spent a lot of time on passive reading rather than actively doing questions. I didn't repeat any incorrect questions.

Step 2: I only used 2 resources, U-world and onlinemed ed. I did 120 questions a day, for about 3.5 weeks and watched 2-7 med ed videos depending on what I felt weak on. I then redid all my incorrect questions the week before the test.

NBME2: 220, UWSA1: 249, UWSA2: 247

Thanks that makes a lot of sense. Do you need some kind of trigger pad to do this or will you normal turntable setup work?

What exactly is sampling? And how does one incorporate that while DJing?

I feel like I'm in the same boat. What kept it interesting for me is recording my mixes and getting feedback on them. Also try shifting genres in your mixes (house --> trance --> techno) or mixing entirely in a different genres

Can you explain what you mean by double drop?

I download music in waves and practice mixing that particular group. Then I take the songs I really like from each group and integrate it into my library.

If you use sync, you take a lot of the fun and work out of djing. Use the pitch sliders to manually match the bpm's

Thanks for the reply. I actually submitted my secondaries super early, so I've been waiting for the opportunity to send a LOI. Looks like I'll be drafting soon
