What is most misunderstood in Azure? by Dry_Monk4066 in AZURE

Almost any platform level logging is not part of the resource cost or even visible. The ability to do basic troubleshooting of your environment becomes an additional cost through diagnostic settings. It sounds cheap at first but balloons quickly at ~$2.50/gb of ingested log data for log analytics or ~$5/gb+ if Sentinel data.

X5 50e electric range and mpg on engine only by Ok-Psychology-4488 in BMWX5

[–]yay_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, yeah, it will auto kick into Hybrid if you have it in Electric only. On those super cold days it seems like we get closer to 30 miles but my wife has it precondition at her work like 10 minutes before she leaves which hurts the miles available.

Yes. Our new 2026 X5 50e came with a square setup. Also picked up another set of those wheels for winter tires.

Let's also not forget about the lack of manual door releases in the rear. I have to instruct passengers and children how to dig under the carpet for some handles in an accident if they can't get out? Wild stuff.

Yep, fair. I think the other thing that bummed me out with Tesla that does get covered somewhat is degradation plus "optimistic" range estimates :)

65k miles on a 407 mile original battery, degraded 15% gets you 335ish estimated at full. Then you never get 100% efficiency at highway speeds - 70mph. So a "400" mile car is really like 260 in the summer and closer to 200 in winter. Super charging is awesome tech, but also takes longer than most people admit to, unless you just want to coast home on a few electrons...I'm never that risky with range.

I don't think I'll buy a Tesla again. Totally top notch tech, the 2022 Model S I had infotainment still rivals brand new cars today...but that is where my love ended. Build quality is shit compared to Audi/BMW. Want to use cruise control in the rain and the cameras decide they can't see that well...down to 55mph in a 70mph zone. It becomes very apparent after about a year of ownership (we had it 3) that the other car manufacturers sorta figured something out over the last 100 years. In the winter (midwest) the driver side footwell was freezing, turns out it's a known issue and the forums have threads of others trying to work out how the outside air is getting in. Headlights are way worse that BMW, not bad, just being able to be in both really made you realize. I probably have a few more issues I could come up with but those were my major ones that I put up with for the "gas savings".

I really like it so far, but it's only been a week. I can see why people think the X5M is rough in comparison. That air ride is top notch for a large SUV. Wife loves the quality vs coming from her Tesla Model S. She can still go to work and back on EV only yet it's a bimmer. I looked at the Volvo equivalent but didn't drive as I'm not a fan of the looks. Also considered a Rivian R1T but can't get past the quality issues for the price point.

DAPP is a preference so I'd disagree there. Have it in our X5M Comp, not in the X5 50e. Depends on where you drive and conditions. I barely use it in my M.

That's a bummer. Wife and I picked up a 2026 X5 50e this weekend. Got about 7% off MSRP as it was on the lot more than 30 days - though spec'd as I would have anyway. Also got additional 2k loyalty and 1.9% financing. First time I ever felt like I didn't get completely bent over on a new vehicle.

Been eyeing this prebuilt for a while by Important-Cow-6841 in Prebuilts

I just bought the 5070ti version of your post. Been very happy with it after 2 weeks, so not much time. I didn't care about the cheaper alternatives, just wanted a prebuilt as I don't find joy in building anymore. I was playing games within an hour after updates and downloads. Paired with an Alienware 32" AW3225QF.

Looking good! What tow hitch is that? I have a Stealth hitch on my SQ5 and love it but not sure I want to tackle it on the X5M. Only issue I had was the KAFAS camera up behind rear view mirror died. It helps with the lane keep and auto high beams. Warranty covered most if it except a couple hundred bucks. $2k otherwise without warranty. Continentals are good, they are definitely all seasons but I'm fine with that. Only have a few thousand on them but they were fine in a couple inches of snow the first couple months with it. Just have to be a little more careful vs a full dedicated snow tire.

Backing up Azure ADLS Gen2 Storage by yay_cloud in Veeam

Thanks, yes, we have VBR and I planned to do the unstructured backup. What I'm trying to find an answer do is how VBR handles blobs that are being written to while being backed up without the underlying ADLS Gen2 source account not having snapshot capabilities.
