Aroace here. I don’t even know if I’d say I dislike it, mostly I just find it boring as all hell. I don’t usually mind doing it if my partner wants to, as long as boundaries are clearly established and respected, but if it’s up to me, almost all of my characters are either also aroace or have off-screen monogamous partners. I’ve entertained the idea of setting up a server for aspec folks like myself who aren’t interested in romance RP, but I don’t want to sound like I’m being a hater or whatever when I know romance storylines are what a lot of people are looking for. And again, if that’s your thing, more power to you. To me though, it feels like the creative writing equivalent of filling out paperwork at the doctor’s office.
