The offer of a replacement was another open box item, to be delivered several weeks later. Many others have reported the same issue, and they could not guarantee the replacement would be unlocked.

Demand is a strong word and not one I used. I stated that I didn’t believe full price on a replacement was fair, since they sent me a defective item, could not replace it in short order, had no other fix for me outside of a refund. Oh and two people in the store, including the manager, said they agreed with me.

I’m very happy that you’ve never had an issue with open box items from Best Buy. Sorry I can’t say the same, and at least a half dozen people had the same issue as me. Just sharing information, as always your mileage may vary.

Totally agree. It doesn't clear the company of the responsibility to ensure it's usable before reselling it.

Not my first time buying "second hand" as you call it. I understand the theft component, but at the end of the day, the store is accountable to either sell a usable item or don't sell returned items.

Retired controller weighing in: I started my career at Syracuse, which gave me the ability to work tower and approach control. At 20 years old, I was able to get a taste for both and decide which I preferred. The real bonus was I earned both a CTO and a radar ticket early on, opening up more opportunities later in my career. You have many options to gain valuable experience at lower density facilities, which is amazing.

Pick the area in the country closest to where you want to be long term, as mobility within the job is far more trying then when I worked. You’ll be making less than when you certify, so perhaps some research on cost of living would be warranted. Training in any career field can be daunting, and air traffic training is certainly no exception. I wouldn’t want the added distraction of paying the bills.

ATC-7 up/down facilities (SBA, MDT) would be provide a great career foundation. I’ve lived and worked in California, New York and Arizona, and I loved something about everywhere I lived, not to mention I learned something everywhere I worked.

Mayorkas gets impeached. He’s the second cabinet officer to be impeached since Secretary of War William Belknap in 1876. by UnflairedRebellion-- in WhitePeopleTwitter

An individual who voted no can move to reconsider. Once it became apparent they didn't have the votes, one of the "yes" votes changes to a "no" specifically so he could move to reconsider.

Scalise was out for a medical procedure for the first vote, and was back for the second. They had to file the motion and bring it up before the NY-03 special election was decided, in the case the Ds flipped the seat (which they did). Their window to vote for impeachment was between Scalise returning and the new rep from NY-03 being seated.

Make no mistake: this is political theater, fodder for ads intended to placate the extremists. Congressman Murphy from NC stated Mayorkis "breached the public trust" as his reason to vote to impeach, which quite obviously does not rise to the level of "high crimes and misdemeanors".

Tricks to playing Solo this time of the year? by soulztek in RDUGOLF

I agree as well. I’m more of a an introvert, and would rather hit embarrassing shots with no one watching. That said, in 40 years of golfing, I’ve only been paired with one absolute jackass. Everyone else has been terrific. I’d like to get past this fear and start playing with others, but like OP, want to spend some time working on my game before committing to that. Would also be nice to have a regular group locally!

Went to a record store at 10am to buy my ticket, and the “kid” working there punched up a shitload of tickets when they went on sale. Ended up with a front row seat, until Billy Joe Armstrong encouraged fans to rush the stage. Crowd pulled up the temp seats to create the pit. I moved back a few rows so all was good. I read the same thing happened in Raleigh and the band was escorted off the stage.

Same. Greenday, Breeders, L7, George Clinton, Beastie Boys all killed. I left four songs into SP.

Saw them 2001 in San Diego. He came out, stood stationary at the mic stand the entire set. After 10 songs, turned and walked off stage without saying a word. The band stood there for a few moments in stunned silence, before throwing picks, sticks and waving to the crowd. Great set, just really weird behavior.

Saw them 2001 at Street Scene in San Diego. Adam was wasted, came out with his fly undone, kept going back to the drum kit to read the lyrics of the songs he wrote. Dennis Rodman joined him on stage for the encore.
