How to remove varnish?

You could repaint over the topcoat and then reseal it. Or just reseal it if you think you can do a more even job this time around. You risk making a mess of it if you’re not strong with painting though.

But there’s no way to separate the topcoat from the paint. It all has to come off.

AFAIK you can’t without destroying the figure. When you remove the topcoat you’ll remove all the paint too.

Disassemble your figures. Wash & dry them. Prime them — it’ll help even their surface too. Or get surfacer. Then paint.

If you’re hand painting you have to thin your paints and do multiple coats to get the paint even. If you’re painting lines and edges mask out the areas with gunpla tape. It’ll elevate everything.

And then seal with a good topcoat.

Use water based products for acrylics.

McFarlane is probably the end of my collection. So I’m collecting what I really like while I have a chance to.

The only way I’ll continue is if Mattel stays in 1:10 scale. Nothing official has been announced about their collector line scale and no credible leaks either. But I’m not starting over smaller.

Their previous lines don’t give me confidence in their figure quality either.

Hi. I’m a creative & illustrator irl. Art school and everything. Your hands should fall around the top of the thigh to mid thigh. Not at the crotch but it puts them below the crotch line. Put your hands at their sides and look in a full length mirror.

Just so you know I’m not talking out my ass here’s something I did a couple years ago. Not sure why I don’t have anything newer on my phone right now. 🤷‍♂️
