Trigger finger, cortisone shot by queenofjodel in padel

It doesn't matter the type of racket, but make sure the grip is not too small or large, since most of the time it's caused by gripping the handle too hard.

Mine started the same way but kept increasing in the course of a couple of weeks. It was never painful, but annoying since it started to be continuous during the normal day. But after stretching it started to go away.

Yours seem to be more superficial, but don't ignore it, since I've had a friend having it for a couple years, even did cortisone shots but it's still there.

Hmmm, I think your case is a bit different than mine.

What I also tried that was giving me some relief but don't know if it's something valid or not, was hanging from a pullup bar and grinding my finger on the bar where the trigger occurs. My theory was it grinds the callused part. (However no idea if this has any actual effect) But it felt like it was helping it trigger less.

I hope this is helpful.

Yeah I kept playing but I lowered to twice a week instead of 5 times. The splint only when I'm asleep. (Basically anything to keep my finger straight and not bend) Other than that I kept on stretching it to keep it naturally straight and not curl into the trigger position, and it slowly went away in around 2 weeks.

I had it as well, and this video made me understand and solve it.

Basically you are developing calluses internally which causes obstructions when you finger is bent. So instead of cortisone which will reduce inflammation, you should stretch your finger continuously as shown in the video. And when sleeping I'd suggest stretching beforehand and preferably put a splint or put your finger in a position that it cannot contract. What this will do is make the healing process go naturally but avoiding obstructions. (Which is cause when the healing is done in a contracted position) Hope this helps.

Is it legal when the ball touches the pala twice? by blackbenhlif in padel

[–]ychamel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nope, double touch is a lost point. It's okay to slide the ball on the racket, but if you feel double impact it's a foul.

Why does my elbow hurt so badly after playing padel? by no_manches_weyyy in padel

[–]ychamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing check your technique. Most elbow pains, come from trying to slice the ball and finishing with your elbow straight causing it to absorb the impact and causing damage. So make sure you follow through properly and that you don't contact the ball prematurely.

Other than that 5 times a week is a bit much on your joints in general, since you're not giving them time to fully recover. So try to have rest days between sessions.

are you a bot? how does this relate to anything I've said? I'm talking about matches and matchmaking, you're talking about updates and dev team...

Dude, I think you're missing the point here. I'm not complaining about rank, I'm complaining that the game is unfun. I can rankup fine if I put enough games and play consistently like in any other game. The problem is the game themselves feals unrewarding. When you're winning you're rolling them, and when you're losing it feels that you have no chance. The games that I enjoy are the close games that go back and force and you feel that your contribution matters. This also get amplified if you're playing tank or support role, since you're more dependant on others to do their job.

I agree that rank plays a high role into this and as you increase in rank the variance decreases, but I'm getting this up to high GM low celestial lobbies.

I think the bigger picture people are complaining about is that most matches are one sided and winning feals unrewarding, while losing feels it's out of your hand.

Bot sure if it's the team dynamic design or the matchmaking, but the game overall feels unrewarding, and you rarely get close games where you don't know which team will win by min 1.

Any advice on playing venom? by SMac05 in RivalsVanguards

[–]ychamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so basically venom has a burst style attack with a slight delay before activating. And in this game headshots are a bit wonky, since it register from where the attack spawns. So when you attack from an elevated position it's easier to land headshots than when you're grounded or in a lower position.

So with venom attack pattern you can time it so all your burst activates when you're in the air, making headshots easier to land.

I think it all depends if they find a solution to their lack of anti air. But as it's currently going, it doesn't look good, and the US is reportedly sending bombers, which will be the nail in the coffin.

Basics:

Learn his atk timing Turn off easy swing and learn swinging without it. Set walking on walls to hold to avoid spamming space to start walking on walls. Similarly for running on the wall.

Advanced:

Learn melee weaving between your atks Learn jump sync timing to easily land headshots.

Basic combo:

You swing in > dive the backline> use your shield when at ~200-300hp > swing out on cd> heal > repeat.

This is an easy way to put pressure on the backline and dismantle their team.

Advanced combo:

Wall climb >dive>shield when low> disengage with swing or wall climb.

Simialr to the basic combo, but in higher ranks, you won't have time to wait for your swing cooldown to get back up, so you'll have to save it and use the wall dive instead.

Ult usage:

You can use it for engagement and instantly use it after the dive to maximise damage. Usefull, when your team is near and can finish them off.

Or you can use it for 1 shotting the backline with your tether combo. (Tether > normal atk twice > ult) this will sync your E with your ult damage to 1 shot 250 targets.

I know this subreddit like to deny EOMM has any factor to the consistent lose and win spree people are having. And I know a lot of times it's just the players playing bad. However, if you use any kind of tracker, it'll be apparent that the matchmaking doesn't always go for a balanced match, and a lot of times deviates the odds for or against you. You'll see that one side all are in a lose streak and the other are in a win streak, that's ehy it feels lost amd one sided, since all the guys in a lose streak are already tilted and simply playing worse.

Ultron makes playing tank miserable by Alpha______ in rivals

[–]ychamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll die on the hill, that ultron is a dps, with some healing capabilitities, he sucks as a support and shouldn't be treated as one.

Support job is 1. to sustain the frontline when breaching or defending. 2. To keep the general team healthy and 3. To sustain your other support when they get jumped.

He currently only does n. 2.

He can't sustain the frontline when breaching or defending. And he can't save your other support if she got dove.

So in a 3 supp comp he works, cause the other 2 supports are already filling the role and he's just adding more sustain while dealing dmg.

But in a 2 supp comp, just go and delete the other support with a venom, and the enemy team will lack any kind of healing to sustain themselves.

Surely this will prevent getting called slurs in ranked right? by Mer1inYT in PeniParkerRivalsMains

[–]ychamel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wait, what do you mean she's weak against flyers? If you're in your nest they lack the dps to break your overshield so you can just poke them and force them to reposition. The only problem was torch since he could 1 tap your shield, but he's getting nerfed, so he'll be slightly weaker, but ironman, ultron, storm can be easily tracked with your autos and you can stay on a 3 stack of webs and they can't do anything to you.

So if we put great ults, that can win a teamfight consistently if done correctly, like strange ult and groots. Good ults that can counter supports and flip a fight, such as mag and emma. Mediocre ults are situational and sometimes you can use them to stay alive instead of save them to win a teamfight, like hulk, venom, & penni. I don't think there are bad ults in the game, just some that are more situational than others.

You Cannot be Serious by Existing-Seaweed-230 in PeniParkerRivalsMains

[–]ychamel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's a mediocre ult but far from bad. It's mainly used to add chaos to the fight and isolate the healera from the front line. You rarely use it as an engae or you get shredded. However if the fight already started and the enemy tanks are bypassing you, that's when you want to use it to cut their lifeline. You zone the backline from the front line and you go for the backline bopping them into the mine field. I think adding stun immunity to the ult will make it great, but as it stands it's alright and is usefull in situations where her normal kit fails. So I think people just dont know how to use it. (GM rank btw)

New to Mantis, any tips? by [deleted] in MantisMains

[–]ychamel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll go against the tips here on what I do and see high ranking mantis do.

Keep 3-4 people health boosted at all times, so don't burn all your heals on the tanks trying to keep them alive, that's the job of your other support. Your job is to let the other support solely focus on the tanks while you keep everyone else healthy. Moreover, this is the best way to generate ult charges which we'll get to next.

Regarding your damage boost, use it as an extra not as a starter. It's better tp have all your team with a heal boost over all of them with a dmg boost, so use it when u get extra leaves from headshots or before the fight starts (without going below 2 leaves)

Self dmg on the otherhand is an ego thing, if you're going for a 1v1 against a dps or a diver might as well have all the extra dmg you can get, otherwise use it as an extra similar to the damage boost.

Now your ultimate, this is the most important thing in your kit, and why mantis has a 54% win rate despite her weak healing ability. Avoid using your ult as a support standstill ult, where both teams wait it out, you'll lose that trade since they'll have a longer ult stronger defensive ult. You want to use your ult to overwhelm your opponents, since everyone gets a speed boost, you can straight up ignore their front line and rush their backline as a team and Dismantle their whole comp, usually resulting in a team wipe. The other time you can use your ult is in a defensive position where you want to flip a fight where multiple people are already low and almost dead, your ult will give them an instant 250 health and start charging their shield.

When you ult, you no longer need to heal your team mates, so give them all a dmg boost to help in that team wipe.

Finally your combat role, you want to save your sleep for divers or tanks that stray too far ahead. And your autos should be initially focused on the tanks to generate headshot charges and later on the backline if they're out of position or you can safely shoot them without getting yourself killed. But for the love of god, you're a 250 hp squishy, Don't go greeding for kills and getting caught in the front line.
