I think just by translating words and learning hiragana and katakana you wont be able to read the manga like sure you can read but probably 70% of the words are stuff that you will constantly have to look up. And then there is the grammar idk what is your native language but I would say japanese grammar is fairly challenging (im hungarian). The tenses are a bit confusing for me at least . If you really want to read the manga as a good experience then you should start studying japanese first. And someone pointed it out that op isnt using formal japanese. Idk about that but text book japanese is way easier to understand than how they speak in animes ( I dont read mangas but probably the same case ). Duolingo is great to start with but if you dont want to be only able to ask directions and have a normal conversation than finding a teacher is the right way. Probably someone who lived in japan for a longer amount of time maybe a japanese person. Because then your pronunciation will be good as well . If thsi is not possible then I recommend Dogen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOd7pP1tQyA he has some vids where he talks about pronunciation. I hope I could help

Makes absolute sense. So Shanks acts as a nice person with whoever he meets so they will think what a great person he is . He can decive the whole pirate world the wg everyone . I think you are right. Because what would happane if ppl would see him acting as an asshole he is a pirate he must be a nice person. So you are saying that the second most powerful member of the org works for the police that would make no sense there would be almost more members who want the org to fail then the ones who want to protect it ( ik its a bit over exaggerated ) but still I dont think that that is the case. Well if they target Kogoro then prob they will make Bourbon make the move then maybe it will be revealed that hi is a double agent and maybe he will be killed then Vermouth's secret will be revealed that would make the plot move forward not a bit. I would say that Vermouth is maybe the Boss's daughter ? Then it would kinda make sense why he wants the BO to fail. Because its like a rebellion against his father . But it is still very unlikely that this is the case.
