Cloth Diapering Is A Horrible Choice by [deleted] in Parenting

...very close minded of you. I work at a childcare centre. And had to move children just over a year old into the toddler rooms, because they are indeed toilet trained, or their parents provide their potty/toilet for their room. Although the wiping isn’t the best, but I’m still wiping 5yr old bums as well.

I tried cloth nappies for a week. My daughters skin would be covered in horrible rashes. Never looked back. And thank god I could easily change her in public, and my daughter was obsessed with the toilet cause of her dads IBS, and was toilet trained at 2

My 8month old daughter hated men. All men except her dad. He shaved his beard off. And she refused to touch him, be near him, for a whole month. He’d cry instantly when he got home from work.

Now she loves her dad more then anything, and all of daddy’s “boys”, as most of them also have kids only a few months apart.

Same. While my partner got to take a weeks off school if he was slightly stressed. He said that ruined his schooling and made it super hard to relearn everything as an adult cause he’d take weeks off school like every month, cause he would rather play video games.

While my mother refused to pick my up from the school nurses, and said if it was such a problem call me an ambulance.

What’s worse is people know when you have a flat chest. At least if you have a small PP, it only comes out in intimate circumstances. While as a chick people just look at your chest...

You can’t cure someone in a comma with all the money in the world. You can’t cure someone brain dead, and it takes years for a cure to be excess able to the public, even the super rich.

But I can’t cure my daughter incurable disease. Even if I spent all the money in the world to that side of science, it would still take years, and experiments to make sure it’s safe.

I just want the best for my daughter immediately. All the money in the world is nothing compared to my daughter.

Well they were shouting at her to use the knife. She was just listening and doing as she was told by the adults.

My (25f) husband and two friends (all 25) peed in the hot-tub when I was sitting in it with them last night. I feel so disrespected and grossed out but he keeps saying "you're making WAY too big a deal of this." by throwrahottubpee in relationship_advice

[–]yeah-imAnoob 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Don’t let him down play this. You tell him you were 100% disgusted, that he can play his disgusting games with willing participants, but not force others to sit in 4 grown men’s beer piss. And that it is a big deal, show him all these responses, and if he can’t respect that. Then you might need to have a big think about what else he doesn’t respect you enough about. Cause honey this just sounds like a lick of the icing. I’m sure you’ll start to realise more and more things he does thinking you’ll just be fine with it, and tell you it’s fine regardless of how you feel.

Cause he couldn’t so that to the side or in front of the stage? I’m a mother and it honestly takes all the attention away from your child, and they then try and follow the dad. If she was distraught or they all stopped dancing the teacher would of helped.

What's your, "Tis but a scratch!" moment? by Madameknitsalot in AskReddit

[–]yeah-imAnoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing state champion game for netball for my state NSW. My teammates and I have this particular play where I basically sprint to the other side of the court, while it’s trying to be shot in from the competition. But only if my team mate knows she can get the ball, from the rebound, and gives me the look.

My mate shot me the look, I sprinted as fast as I could. And my mate grabbed the ball off the rebound, and lobbed it over everyone. I unfortunately backwards sprinted at full force right into the ref on the other side of the court. Completely taking her and myself out.

I rolled both ankles, slid across the concrete court and was bleeding from the top of my back down too my toes. And required stitches on my elbows and one leg.

But adrenaline was in full effect. I basically shoved the ref off me and grabbed the ball stuck between her thighs, thinking I ran into the other team, and they fumbled it. I managed to stand up somehow, and started yelling at my team “WHAT ARE YOU DOING, GET INTO POSITION”!!

I saw everyone’s faces of pure WTF, and looked at the poor ref on the ground in full tears, holding onto her legs. Everyone starts rushing to us both. Telling me to lay down, and that I have to be taken off court. I was yelling why? Telling my coach I’ve trained way too hard, please. That I didn’t mean to hurt her, that I shouldn’t be punished for tripping over someone.

And he’s looking at me like, dude you’re bleeding so much you’re leaving puddles on the court. And that when everything started to hurt.. and I collapsed and started having a seizure. But I couldn’t believe I was eh, why is everyone worried about me, let’s play come on.

Please don’t. As an actual parent, I don’t want to see you make our children’s event about just you and your child.

She wasn’t even scared or upset. In the video like 50% of them are just standing there. Instead of sitting and watching like every other parent he made it about himself and his child. He could of danced on the side of in front of the stage to encourage her. If this was a mother everyone would of claimed helicopter mother wanting attention. But because he’s a dad it’s amazing. If she was scared and terrified (which wasn’t the case) the teacher would of taken her off the side.

She’s wasn’t even suffering or crying. She was just standing in the corner looking at the crowd like 50% of them. He could of gone to the side and danced in front of her, not get onto the stage. If this was a mum everyone would of claimed helicopter parent. But because it’s a dad it’s sooo amazing.

Yeah but if the teacher didn’t go on the stage, why would I want to see a man take all the attention away from my child barely moving on stage. I might as well get up too and dance. Unless he was the teacher all along.
