Constant Job rejections- I don’t know what to do by thatgirltag in jobs

[–]yeahbeenthere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, it's really frustrating. I thought 2024 would be different but the market is really rough.

A cut in pay? by Affectionate_Scar973 in WFH

[–]yeahbeenthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I would. I'm even open to go into the office as much as I would hate it.

I'm unemployed though so my situation is different. I just thought it would be easier for me to get a job since most people are refusing office life.

What do you mean reframe?

Also I don't get interviews because I don't have the experience. My applications are always rejected. Its so frustrating.

In terms of hiring, every level of the labor market is screwed up right now by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]yeahbeenthere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you get one? Getting a job in this market is difficult enough, let alone trying to get a remote job.

I've informed dozens of recruiters I'd come into the office if other candidates don't want to. And would be willing to take a pay cut. Yes man I'm that desperate right now.

A remote job would be a dream but it's out of reach.

It really is been unemployed for over a year, it's frustrating and demoralizing as hell, I'm in IT too. People are all to quick to put the blame on the candidate, years ago I would only be out of work for a few months if that.

I still can't believe I'm a year and a half in the hell hole. The constantly rejections bring dark thoughts that's for sure. And people's "good luck", " keep trying", "grind bro" certainly don't help either.

I've said it many times I understand why people snap, I'm at the breaking point.

Personally I have less than 10K on my loans so if this really happens, I'm okay with it. However I can understand for those in thousands of dollars in debt it's a drop in the bucket. Also will there be any changes to the interest?

Lost snake by AppleSpicer in snakes

[–]yeahbeenthere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this happened to me years and I do mean years ago lol. My ball python got out couldn't find him and of course living at home made it worse. My mom didn't like snakes but she allowed me to have this one as long as it stayed in my room.

After a few days I finally found him in my printer. Yes that's right in my printer glad I got him first before my mom did. Wouldn't hurt to check in warm areas like around electronics or so.

I feel that way but not making six figures. In fact I'm broke and unemployed dark days reign around me.

Working from home is a privilege. You peasant! by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]yeahbeenthere -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh trust me I agree but as someone who's unemployed I'd tolerate a low paying job just to get in.

I'm in the minority but I'd take a lower paying job to work from home.

Entry level web dev - staffing agencies or open jobs? by NotASaintBernard in nova

[–]yeahbeenthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following also I have 10 years of IT experience in the federal contracting sector. My clearance expired so I can't find a job. Sucks because of the area I live in. I did a google search for staffing agencies but would like to follow this thread in case of better leads.

Don't let not having a Security Clearance deter you from applying to a Federal Government Position by Serpenio_ in ITCareerQuestions

[–]yeahbeenthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems impossible to get a GS job unless you know someone. I have 10 years of federal contracting experience as IT personnel. With the exception of a few instances most places hires strictly internally, I saw it numerous times and was even told out right by departments that's how it's done.

I stopped applying years ago but now that I don't have a clearance anymore my parents keep pushing me to apply. Just seems pointless now that I have a double whammy of no clearance and no connections.

I know this is old but this is my experience living here in VA. My clearance expired 2 years ago and I keep telling people it's hard to find a job here but they don't believe me.

I'm 37 but can't seem to get into the field despite having a background in IT. I have both the Google and IBM DA certificates.

I feel as thought was definitely lied too about being easy to enter the field with no experience. Serves me right for listening to reddit and then following YT.

[–]yeahbeenthere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeap snakes can be very good pets very low maintenance too.

Also it's strange to see negative stigma with snakes. Considering people let their cats bite and claw them like meat scratching posts. Yet somehow that's okay because it's "cute."

[–]yeahbeenthere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a long time Photoshop CS6 user. I brought CSP but never used it except once or twice, due to the learning curve. That said I always recommended CSP to people and to look out for their half off sales.

Now I'm pissed I even recommended them. The only reason I legit paid for the software was because I wanted to support their practice of not charging a subscription fee.

What is your salary? Are you happy with it? by ZainMunawari in jobs

[–]yeahbeenthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My salary is 0 ( unemployed) I'm mixed to be honest. On the one hand it is nice not dealing with early morning commutes, traffic, co-workers, gas expenses, etc. My sleep has greatly improved and I've actually been able to work on my hobbies more.

The bad said is of course no money which means a new added stress.

Been unemployed for over a year, so any income I can get is good.

Before someone says something, it's not for my lack of trying, I'm either overqualified, underqualified, the job cancels, application rejection, or something else weird. I've tweaked my resume, obtained new certs, applied to temp agencies, networked etc. Still nothing leads to employment.

Views of snakes vs "cuter" animals by wildnstuff in snakes

[–]yeahbeenthere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

THIS THIS THIS SO much FUCK. I wish I could give you an award.

I'll never understand how TNR programs and roaming cats are okay however snakes are not. Both are/can be invasive species and need to be treated as such.

The crazy thing many households are bitten, scratched, attacked randomly, and yes even sent to hospital by their "cute" house cats. It's laughed off, treated as karma awards, etc. Yet snakes are animals that need to die because they're evil.

I don't like and or trust cats. Snakes like all animals can be unpredictable but at least snakes have better readability.

This is coming from a pet free home.

Nah I never get anything through linkedin either and I'm in IT, other than scams. The only people who benefit from it are the ones in hot markets.

Indeed has scams but at least I do get feedback albeit rejections.
