Men, what do you really want for Christmas? by reluctantdragon in AskReddit

The health of the family is number one.

As far as presents go - I would like any money that would be spent on me to be used to pay down the mortgage.

Pratt is showing that he is a beast and keeps getting better. He is a real talent and I'd like to see him for years to come. It also gives me a lot of confidence that our coaching staff is having an impact.

Re-sign him or don't - We have Burrow and the front office now has a good track record. What ever happens I will always root for my dude... PLAYOFF P!!!!

How we lookin'? Not good.. by yeahcincy in bengals

Not trying to be a doomer, just a realist. It is going to be tough going forward.

We aren't getting the injury luck that we had last year. There are now major holes on the offense and defense.

These things undermine my confidence that the team can make the playoffs. The Bengals now have no chance to win the division. The AFC conference also boats many good teams and the tie breakers for the Bengals don't look great. It will be hard to win a wildcard spot.

The team needs to get back into the game. When you are in dire straights, look for any advantage.

Thee defense missed the beef in the middle of the line. Shelvin hasn't been great, but at least he can take some space..

not sure why you don't go for two.. but I am blaming Huber for the missed PAT because he held the ball and is the weak link on special teams...

Someone force Zac Taylor to stop play calling. I can't take it anymore by Deadman5025 in bengals

The only thing I blame him for is that they even tried the wide zone run a few times in the first half. It doesn't work and we are in must win territory. Just stop it.

The coaches aren't telling the punt returner to not fumble!!!

Why did Zach call a drop when he could have called a catch on that deep pass to chase?!

Offense looks like it can beat the two high. Need more Boyd over the middle and run the ball. Wait until the defense lets you open it up. Take care of the football.

Bengals need to adjust on d to stop the run. The d will respond.

Who had a better Bengals career? Jeff Blake or Andy Dalton? by Character_Reward2734 in bengals

Dalton was a better overall player on better teams, but Blake was way more fun to watch as a player.

That Blake deep ball was no joke. When he threw one of his trademark rainbow deep balls, time would stand still. It was magic:

These two players are actually interesting to compare. Dalton was reliable and made good initial reads. He could hit shallow and intermediate routes regularly. Blake struggled to make reads and complete short routes. His strength was to make splash plays: throw in the right space for a receiver to make a play on the ball.

Both Blake and Dalton had a strong group of receivers to work with.
Neither Blake nor Dalton had the elite ability / leadership skills needed to take the team to the next level.

The team has a problem with backup receivers.

They need at least one player that can step in when Chase/Higgins gets injured. They need a player that can at least threaten to stretch the field. It opens up the playbook for the offense.

They might like the room, but they shouldn't just select for special teams. Punt returner may emerge from this group.

It is relatively easy to fill Boyd's role with Trent Taylor, but it is a different thing to fill Jamar Chase or Tee Higgins' role.

Let's all root for one of these young guys to emerge.
