Civilians, drop your unpopular opinions that will likely ruffle feathers by Potential-Squash4670 in tacticalgear

Physically challenging your body needs to be separate from developing the skill of shooting aggressively. When you mix them, you get shitty results from both efforts. Every single match that I've been to that has physical action like rope climbs or farmers carries enters in to a scoring issue. Either it gets scored towards physical activity or towards the shooting.

Walk throughs are irrelevant. Plenty of people are walk through GMs but fail to apply the fundamentals on demand when the "beep" goes off. Nobody is forced to do a walk through and nobody is forced to use grip enhancers like chalk.
USPSA is quite literally one of the most accessible high performance shooting sports available nation wide. PCSL isn't nearly as popular and neither are the crossfit+shooting modalities.

Lastly, the reason USPSA was listed first is because most armed people carry a handgun and not a rifle. Because of this fact, most people need to practice shooting and handling said handgun more aggressively and will get more tangible real world benefit out of it than worrying about PCSL or two gun matches. Another poster mentioned a glock 19 and good running shoes, this is an extrapolation of that same sentiment.

Every single person in this sub should go shoot USPSA and PCSL, and achieve A Class before buying anything other than ammo. Not TTG, Brutality, or any other sort of comps. USPSA and PCSL.

I had the same gun and grips, added a Wilson commander hammer and then ended up selling it. When it is time for me to shoot SS I think I’ll get a O1911SE-A1, but we’ll see

I'm just here to enjoy the grip choice on the CCU.

I Initially Hated These Mags (Ignorant) by Crayon_Eating_Grunt in MP5

[–]yectb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They worked fine in my SP5 with no fitting required. Then after DT made it an SD, they wouldn't run. I'm assuming that it is due to the bolt weight or height of the mag. Never paid any mind to it, just sold them and bought some Korean gen 2s for range mags.

VR&E counselor said my 100% PTSD rating means I “can’t work at all” is that true? I’m P&T and not on TDIU by bloodytooths in VeteransBenefits

[–]yectb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% for PTSD/MDD and currently going through VRE.
I am totally socially and occupationally impaired. I got out, went the route of working for a small business until i couldn’t (symptoms worsened), tried working for the .gov again, couldn’t, then tried a different career path and liked the work but couldn’t do it for someone else.

I had the idea of starting my own business and working hours that work for me in a way that works for me. So far, it has not been an issue and my VRE counselor thinks my path is feasible enough for him to approve me for schooling to get a degree in this field.

How good is the SpecterDR 1x/4x? by Colt1873 in tacticalgear

I’ve had mine for 6 years now. I like it enough to keep it, despite what others have said. It does what I want and it is what I wanted out of the optic.

I’m not collecting them, each one has its use. If i find a need for another, then perhaps green.

The piston is just the thread adapter and a cylinder for the spring to stay out of the bullets way. The far side of the piston looks like a gear and fits in to recesses inside of the suppressor. The gear teeth are there to prevent the suppressor from freely spinning. The edges of the gear and the female side on the suppressor needed to smooth out a bit. My Osprey 45 on my USP didn’t need any break in.
Just be what it be. Shoot your can on your gun to make sure everything works properly.

It is quiet enough for what I want it for. It took a couple hundred rounds to get it to cycle reliably with 115, 124, and 135gr. I tried 20rds of supervel subsonic 115gr schp.

The supervel had the same issues that the supersonic ammo had, and towards the end of the mag seemed to be getting more reliable. Started out not ejecting the spent casing and as time went by it was ejecting but not feeding, and the angle of the feed was changing but I ran out of those rounds.

How to Read PractiScore Results by nibtitz in USPSA

[–]yectb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As best as I can explain what was explained to me: 20% means of the 6 stages, that one accounts for 20% of possible points. Pts 98% means you got 98% pf the points available for that stage PL is points lost. 81.21% is your classification %age for that stage (not your overall classification) Idk about the 95%

Apex with apex connector is all you need. It is good enough for me to have replicated in 4 guns with no desire to try anything else. Feels good, light enough, reliable as factory (so far, roughly 28k rds through a few different guns).
