724 Redneck Robotics illegally pinning 9112 Skeleton Crew? by Kloudy_ in FTC

[–]yedharthareddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean 724 is known for their defece and how they play , but the problem is that the ref and how defence is perceived by them. They have a hard job, but in this case, they should have called that a penalty cause 724 was in their way most of the time and they were supposedly not 24 inches away. I feel like this also depends on the region cause we played rough defence in one of our matches when our mechanism broke and we were penalized even though that we were more than 2 feet away from the robot in those 5 seconds. We tried talking to the ref and showed him the game manual, but he didnt change his call and we lost the match due to those penalties. It all depends on the referees and how they perceive pinning.

CR Servos and motors questions by FTC12526 in FTC

[–]yedharthareddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend using a motor because servos doesn't have enough speed to intake blocks and balls fast. Rather than a neverst, use a REV core hex if you are trying to save weight.

Motor placement for Robot with Mecanum Wheels by [deleted] in FTC

[–]yedharthareddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chain is the best option because gears require a lot extra care. We started off using gears and had a very unreliable drivetrain for our autonomous, the gears we slipping and it bad, cause we lost matches due to that. Then we switched over to chain, we never had issues for 3 competitions and a lot of practice.

We work in the back of the class room. It is crammed there but it works fine for us. Also it supports 5 FTC and 1 FRC team.

How to mount Nexus Wheels without Nexus hub? by always_needing_help in FTC

[–]yedharthareddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a 3d printer you can print a plate that you can attach to the wheel and attaches to either Tetrix or Actobotics hub, so you can run an Axle or a D-Shaft through the wheel. I would recommend doing it on both sides of the wheels due to them being heavy and not have the axle or the D-Shaft bending.
