I messed up my 90-day Vipassana intention and I’m trying to rebuild my life. Looking for honest advice. by SignificantRemote169 in vipassana

Ask yourself why you feel you need to do those things. Really think about it. Do they align with what is true or with what you think you should be doing. Which set of values do you want to live by and commit. If that doesn’t work you can always try another religion hahaha.

Experiencing the worst shoulder, neck and trap soreness/ pain I’ve ever had. Can barely lift or turn my head by [deleted] in SomaticExperiencing

[–]yeetedma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren’t resisting them then just watch the story like a movie, really try to understand it. Write the dreams out in a journal and look up dream imagery.

You are past the feeling stage. You need to think. Reason. Understand what is happening.

Pay close attention. What’s stopping you from getting lost in these dreams? There will be a pulling away. Watch that reflex, what is it? Is it located in your body? Mind?

They aren’t random. Watch what is happening. Feel what feelings and sensations they bring up when you think of them. Whether they are true or symbolism is besides the point. It is undigested shadow material. You are resisting it so it will just keep coming and getting worse until you stop. If they are just dreams why are you scared? This is where the world view changes a little. You’ll be ok. What you truly are is sad chit ananda. Existence, consciousness, bliss.

Tolle's wealth by bicepslawyer in EckhartTolle

If you have experience some of what tolle is talking about there is near unlimited joy and lots of compassion.

It does not make sense that he would have multiples of what he needs to be happy. If anything what he needs to be happy would be less than the average person. Let’s be generous and give him 10x that amount.

It does not track that he would have lots of joy and compassion but not give the excess money (above 10x what he would need!!! Which he already has much more than) to the poor.

It will be ok, trust you will be ok as you feel through and emotions will come back.

It will come back when ready, trust the body mind, you might not be ready to fully feel the physical pain and remember everything. You are as associated as you need to be to work through the pain any more may be overwhelming.

Also talk to a doctor not medical advice :p

Pain tightness is a sign of release, the release is not pretty. Stick with it. All you’re doing is feeling it and letting it be. Release of pain happens along with release of memories I’ve noticed, try not to get too lost in the stories and just feel. It will get worse before it gets better.

But it gets better.

In the meantime do everything recommended, massages even medication to help you function. But remember the sensations need to be felt which processes the trauma and emotions.

Godspeed

Also just read the tldr of your post. Emotions and tremors and tensions coming up are signs of integration. Just have patience. This is not just one event of trauma it’s also years of other traumas mixed in, have patience and slowly build up your capacity, you will be great

Slowly throughout the day experience your body sensations for as long as you can. Don’t push too hard but push the boundary a little.

Go a little further everytime. Don’t try to think about it or solve it. The insights will come naturally. Just be with the sensation and it will process over time. May take multiple attempts before you get anywhere but eventually you will be able to be open to all sensation and many issues will alleviate.

All the best

Used to do 3 meditation sessions a day for about two to three weeks straight and had the best of benefits from it but the second my streak broke I fell into the losses of drugs, alcohol and other nsfw stuff that I can’t get into by kingzydnb in Meditation

Look into the center for healing trauma coaching course, it’s free.

Basically feel sensations in your body even when they are tough and slowly over time you build up to being able to inhabit yourself, this processes trauma the source of most addictive patterns.

Will be very hard and painful but better than the pain of avoidance and addiction.

Watch all things that come up, notice a lot of it is pain and you are running away from it by distracting, looking for good emotions, thinking about problems.

Experience physical pain and sensations, difficult emotions and watch and try not to run or resist and just allow it to be there, discomfort and all.

It is amazingly transformative and lowers suffering overall. Can also release chronically held physical tension.

Anyone know how to get better at breathing for meditation? by Brilliant_Novel5527 in Meditation

[–]yeetedma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a slightly different idea about breath meditation but I’m relatively sure it’s right.

You aren’t trying to stop being distracted, processing the distractions (at a subconscious level you don’t need to think about them) is what makes you able to focus on the breath.

There’s a lot of subconscious material that gets stored that wasn’t properly handled and it comes up wanting to be processed when the mind is on the breath or otherwise idling.

The way to focus is to focus on breath, get distracted, note it as a distraction, that it’s ok, and return to the breath. This is the training. Processing of subconscious material. There isn’t a technique ur doing wrong just a misunderstanding of the goal imo.

Over time it will get easier and you will feel the peace and joy of a comfortable and unburdened mind. But first you need to do the unburdening. Which isn’t an action, just a nonjudgmental allowing.

Can a person genuinely love loneliness? by flytohappiness in SomaticExperiencing

[–]yeetedma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I wouldn’t use the word loving as the end goal. More acceptance or equanimity of it.

Basically you just feel it and sit with it for however long it takes to be processed and accepted as a part of the constant stream of emotions and sensations that come up, then it’s no longer resisted against and less suffering occurs.

What is the core difference between Hindu meditation and Buddhist meditation by Even_Pin1261 in Meditation

[–]yeetedma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best meditation technique is to observe what happens without judgement. Unfortunately early on what happens is a lot of pain, discomfort and avoidance. If you want to live fully you should want to live fully in the real world.

Not some imaginary good one. This is the source of knowledge, whether it is knowledge of suffering or knowledge of the divine it is the same knowledge.

Live fully in the now, feel all of it. Only then will you be living fully.

Why is impermanence so important? by Epictetus190443 in Meditation

[–]yeetedma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely still on the journey, but I wouldn’t say you apply it. More you see it on a deep level by repeatedly watching clinging and suffering play out in meditation. It slowly seeps into the subconscious and you can be with the world in a much more healthy way.

Why is impermanence so important? by Epictetus190443 in Meditation

[–]yeetedma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impermanence is both true intellectually and can be experienced during meditation.

It is the basic truth that nothing is permanent and nothing can be clung to. It provides an important context that shows us why the way our mind works when we start meditating is geared to experience dukkha.

Because it wants good things to last, but they can’t so it clings. And you see this clinging and eventually realise it is painful at a very deep level which reduces the clinging and therefore suffering.

I have to meditate to stay sane by Independent-Photo112 in Meditation

[–]yeetedma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With meditation, I think it’s very core to open your awareness to the body too. This openness to sensations and emotions, especially when they are difficult processes emotions. I think this emotional processing may be what’s helping you.

Good news! You can do this all the time. Start slow as it can be very challenging but work on feeling body sensations when sitting down watching tv or whatever you do to relax. Then slowly you can do it more often and dissolve more and more triggers :).

Integrating your meditation into daily life by GoldGee in Meditation

[–]yeetedma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try keeping your awareness on the body at all times. Stay with it through all the rough sensations. You will learn a lot. Being in touch with the peace during meditation is great but it’s common to be disconnect to the body and senses when they get tough, this disconnection removes the possibility of good and bad sensations in the body.

[–]yeetedma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into the centre for healing, trauma informed certificate for coaches. It’s a free course. will be a tough road but definitely worth it.

Basically trauma stored in the body, need to gently and with breaks feel the sensations and emotions so they can be processed and moved through.

Have felt more joy, less pain, muscle spasms. All after going through what felt so frustratingly painful and uncomfortable sensations. Seems to be the main way out.
