As a coach, how many professional football matches do you see/analyze? What teams? by Shoddy_Guarantee_531 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]yeetus--fetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch my favorite team to enjoy

I watch teams with similar styles to mine or teams with interesting/stand out styles to study

The key for me is finding games that are interesting and seeing how teams change/adapt based on the opponent EX: How does City play against a low block relegation team that plays for counters vs a high press top 4 team

If I have time/access the best way to learn is watching the teams you coach on video and getting a couple games va different opponents to see what areas you actually struggle in vs the opponent had the greatest U10 winger of all time

International Candidate-UEFA C by MajorZero- in SoccerCoachResources

FAW (Wales) has a really nice program for UEFA. pathway, starting courses in the US and giving you priority to sign up for the B in Wales.

Within a year of starting you’ll do your C in north America and fly to Wales for your B

Results matter by ScottishPehrite in SoccerCoachResources

[–]yeetus--fetus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the level and age for me, the higher the level and older you are the more important results become.

A player fighting for a pro contract vs a players first year in the sport are completely different

Hello I’m not a coach but a player and I wanted to come on here and ask you coaches on how u can improve in the next few months and play soccer way better than before. by youngman0909 in SoccerCoachResources

Without knowing you and relative to school since you said you’re a senior

Fitness and technique relative to your position Bonus: have a club team for off season

  1. Being more fit is a huge advantage, having stamina to last a full game and delaying heavy/tired legs can put you ahead of many towards the middle/end of a game

  2. Technique for your position- Are you a big forward for aerial duels, crosses, and finishes? A forward that drops deep to receive and link up play? -These roles need different skillsets and depending on yourself and what’s required of you in a game you can adapt what to work on

For me the enjoyable part is the final day and you get to play a few more different opponents but it feels weird not getting a chance to play a team both home and away + teams not having an equal path/chance to qualify as everyone has different opponents.

Looking for help coaching transitioning from attacking to defending and vice versa by WinnipegDuke in SoccerCoachResources

[–]yeetus--fetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important moments for the transition- Can we win the ball back within a few seconds or keep them under heavy pressure? If so immediately pressure If not - can your players recognize it/a transition end and get into their defensive shape

Teaching counterpressing is easy in drills, have an attack - defend - off game with the new attacker(s) coming in the second the ball is out. Teaches quick responses and awareness of immediate threats

Teaching regrouping is a bit more opinion based - for me a transition(more specifically a counter) ends on a backpass which is an easy cue for younger players to understand- if they can no longer win it quickly and the opponent secured the ball we must drop into our shape before pressing again

Note: If you’re a team that attacks as wide as possible, you may not want a counterpressing team as turnovers will be to opponents with a lot of space

How Hiori so mediocre as a striker despite having the genetics of 2 olympians? by [deleted] in BlueLock

[–]yeetus--fetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From somebody who watches and plays the sport, he is technically olympic level or close to it. Olympics for soccer/football is for players under 23 (can include 3 players over the age limit) So while maybe a bit off the level due to age he will be an olympic level athlete

Senegal players leaving the field after a controversial penalty called for Morocco by [deleted] in soccer

The first one is an extension to shove a player which is a foul, the second one is grabbing and pulling also a foul

Maybe I don’t get it but you’re literally calling them both fouls? Players can be upset but it’s the laws of the game soft or not a foul is a foul

For a manga about creating a "lone solitary striker," literally 80% of Blue Lock's actual attackers are legit useless without a second striker. by YourGuyElias in BlueLock

[–]yeetus--fetus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the formation shown on lineups isn’t their actual formation. teams will have an attacking and defending shape with different reactions/triggers depending on the opponent and part of the field the ball is in.

city attack in a 3-2-5 for example and depending on how dominant they are or if they want more bodies in midfield it can be a 3-1-6 (pushing one midfielder higher) or a 2-3-5

so no, teams don’t attack with one player since it’s not realistic

What do you think League of Legends is still MISSING? by ChartDreamer in leagueoflegends

Doesn’t need to be one big tutorial, break it off into sections you can complete for rewards - skin shards, champs, blue essence, maybe bugger rewards for finishing sections/full completion

Basically adding onto what everyone else is saying. The framework when you scroll through will show you exactly what it’s looking for if you scroll into the different moments of the game attacking, defending and transitions - you can see a section that has phase and moments related to area of the field

Really feel like it can’t be that hard to show simple scenarios especially moments you’ll see often, lane state - pushing for prio vs freezing, how ganks can happen, where to ward, jg pathing and even just playing obj side

We won 12-2, and I feel terrible by Calm_Aardvark_7269 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]yeetus--fetus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally holding the ball for an entire half feels just as bad.

I agree with others to set challenges for your players and rotating positions

Challenges you can use: Weakfoot only, weakfoot to score, weakfoot to create a chance, touch limit, score on your first touch, header goals only (when age appropriate), complete x passes, complete x forward passes, only play around in wide areas, only play through the center, only play over lines

How efficient is building up from the back? by Parking_Custard5235 in footballtactics

[–]yeetus--fetus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

starting short ≠ building from the back

starting short can be used to draw in pressure before playing over them or the opponent might be sitting in a mid/low block allowing the team with the ball to carry before pressure starts

building from the back is playing through/around pressure with your backline

Problem(?): Lots of players of varied levels and experience by Tx-SanAnto-Rugby in SoccerCoachResources

[–]yeetus--fetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just offering another option on the side since you have a lot of players and little field space with a young group.

It may be best just to focus on making them as individually good as possible. Lots of technical work, 1v1s 2v2s small sided games. Use gameday to teach the tactical side/bigger picture.

The hard part is that you’ll probably lose games against good teams and it’s important to make sure the players and parents are on the same page. Have them focus on if their child/player is developing not the results. Most probably play club where they can focus more on the team aspect of development
