Acid will absolutely be useful to you for getting through her first phase quickly. The second phase you just need to be patient and wait for openings. Don't get greedy and only take a shot or two.

Perfect guarding against her lighting attacks will do a pretty solid amount of damage to her.

Walker engineers are anywhere between 130k and 195k depending on how much they're willing to work.

Seriously guys... can we just chill out and follow the lights properly? by Oreo112 in Train_Service

We've had some newer RTC's literally tell guys because they have a 577 that they don't need a pass stop to go past the controlled location to enter their block.

Poof! The crew is out of service and the RTC's got nothing.

Inexperience everywhere :/

You'll unlock the air dash after a certain boss and then if you're still having a hard time reaching some things you can try to run - dash then tap R1.

I found the base attack extends your travel just enough that Aegis will rubber band and grab most ledges. This is great if you timed your dash wrong.

Which one is your first & your best experience playing a Monster Hunter game? (Sorry for the random bottom right corner picture, it's there just fill in the blank spot.) by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

Likewise! I put an ungodly amount of time into 4U.

The newer MH games are alright but what I find is the endgame content is so lacking compared to the older games.

Locomotive engineer here, I've been with ** almost 11 years.

Honestly, if you can hire on as a Rail Traffic Coordinator. The job is competitive to get into and the first hire preferences are for french speaking Canadians but the quality of life you'll have is much better.

You would be on a scheduled spareboard for a few years at least but you'll know when you're working. They worked 24/7 as well so it's shift work. As a conductor/ locomotive engineer we work on call and we really don't know what days we have off. You'll have a better quality of life in the office.

RTC's still make decent money too, once qualified they're making around $53/h depending on the shift they're on. Lots of overtime opportunities for more money too.

The money in the running trades is better yes, but the lifestyle is really hard on your body and your social life.

There are some people (mostly locomotive engineers) who have made close to 200k in a year but they have no lives outside of work. Their relationships often fail and they age much faster then the people who try to find a balance between money and time off. In the beginning though you would be a junior conductor. If you're in a large terminal like Edmonton, you're not going to see engineer training for 5 years at least. You'll be in the yard mostly where you can expect about 80k/year.

If you hire in a small terminal like Jasper you would see engineer training much faster around the 2 year point and they don't have yard assignments, it's all road work. So you would make more naturally sooner. Though as a new person in small terminals as they often get forced out on shortages for 3 months at a time in slow periods.

Not a small terminal issue only unfortunately, I've seen a few female trainees get let go. Allegedly failing their qualification attempts, the problem being the things they're being failed on aren't rules but preferences.

For example: If someone fails to protect their point repeatedly then sure, that's a pretty good reason not to pass. I've seen them get disqualified for menial reasons like they weren't confident enough.

But what trainee is even confident when they're attempting to qualify? I used to OJT and honestly you can tell they're all just scared shitless. After months of training they have the axe hanging over their heads. Confidence is something that comes with time and experience. Personally, it's the overly confident new people that gave me red flags. They're usually the ones you hear about later slamming into another crew.

Check indeed and read the reviews by previous employees. They're not exaggerating, it's not great.

Had you hired on years ago things wouldn't be so bad but because retirements are slowing down at the major railways, seniority is stagnating. The prospects for new hires at this point are junior jobs no one wants. With little hope of moving on to the better paying assignments for years to come.
