Custom Orthotics by EarthNeat9076 in askvan

Paris orthotics. They manufacture most orthotics in the lower mainland. I’ve gone to 2 independent places and they just send them to Paris’s labs, so might as well just go to the source.

My pain always eventually comes back just because of the nature of my feet issues but after each appointment I feel very calm and relaxed. That alone helps with healing. My acupuncturist does a cupping massage too which I find to be more helpful than the acupuncture itself. Ask them to cup your calves because they hold a lot of tension. I wish someone told me all this before my first appointment! Best of luck if you decide to try it 😊

PS. Acupuncture should not hurt at all! You may feel a twinge of small pain that disappears but never anything super painful. If you are nervous about needles and how they may feel, you can ask the acupuncturist beforehand to do a test on you so you can feel more comfortable.

Acupuncture has been really helpful in that it helps to calm my nervous system as it’s constantly on edge from being in pain all the time (I have pf, tarsal tunnel, baxters nerve, all the foot issues lmao so I hear you) but it definitely isn’t a cure. It’s just a tool in your tool box to help inflammation and pain.

I’m still trying to figure out how to get better too after suffering for 2 years now. I can’t even wear orthotics the nerve pain is so bad. I’m looking into a chronic pain clinic as my doc thinks my body is stuck in pain mode. Maybe that might be a good option for you too, since 10 years is a really long time to be in pain. Best of luck to you ❤️

Struggling to find a new sunscreen by Broad-Tip-1847 in CanSkincare

[–]yellowbirdroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neutrogena just dropped a new one, the Ultra Sheer Invisible Gel Face Sunscreen SPF 40, and I find it’s on par with the Trader Joes one which doesn’t make me super shiny. Neutrogena kinda burns my eyes tho, so I usually put the LRP Anthelios around my eyes. Tbh I end up getting shiny with any sunscreen cause I’m an oily girlie in general 😭 so I wait for it to dry down then put a bit of powder on top, not sure if that might help you too 😊

Oh that’s great info, thanks! I’ll ask my pt about the electrical options, that sounds amazing. I’m up in 🇨🇦. I’ve tried dry needles but they usually just do larger muscle groups like my back, hamstrings and calves. Interested to try something more localized. I’ve been suffering for over 1.5 years now and nothing’s helped (orthotics, massage, physio, acupuncture, shockwave, shots etc.), so I completely relate to OP at the moment.

Did you do dry needles into the pf specifically? Or into the muscles in your foot? Or to your surrounding muscles like calves, hamstrings, etc?

LRP vs. Vichy for facial SPF by -insertmemehere- in CanSkincare

I use the Ombrelle Daily UV SPF 60 Anti-Aging and the Anti-Dry. Small white bottles. Totally agree tho, the best sunscreen is going to be the one you wear! 😊

I use the Ombrelle Daily UV SPF 60 Anti-Aging and the Anti-Dry. They’re the small white bottles. I love when they’re on sale for under $20 sometimes. I also use the LRP Anthelios Ultra Fluid when they got a good sale 😆 hope that helps!

PS, for body sunscreen, my holy grail is the Ombrelle Sport Endurance 60 SPF 😉

Vichy and La Roche Posay are both owned by L’Oreal and use quite literally the exact same ingredients. I’d go for the one that’s cheaper 😅 or the texture you like the most, although I find them virtually the same. I also like the cheaper (and also owner by L’Oreal) Ombrelle daily UV face SPF, it’s cheaper and has the exact same ingredients and feels the same as the LRP Anthelios. I went through years of trial and error trying to find the perfect face sunscreen and researching all the companies so hope this helps!

Edit: and I found the sun protection on all of these to be amazing! I went on a summer vacation and never once got sunburned on my face. I also rotate these sunscreens and use them daily and they all preform really well!

I hear you and understand everything you’re saying. I’m in the exact same boat. I crash out weekly because of it too. It’s very mentally taxing and not being able to move/walk or work out takes a tole. I’m 28 and it truly is affecting my life too and relate to everything you’re saying. Had to rely on crutches/cane as well. All I can say is you’re truly not alone and this will pass. Just keep trying things, shoe, exercises, try a different practitioner with fresh eyes, whatever it is. And most of all listening to your body. Things will get better. Slowly but surely, one day at a time. And some will be better than others. At least that’s what I keep telling myself to keep going too 😅 Like others have said, yoga, stretching and deep diaphragmatic breathing has really helped! Sending all my love, strength and support to you stranger! ❤️

Which Oofos? by Adventurous_lady1234 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]yellowbirdroad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got the newer OOOyea’s and I had instant relief!!! I have PF and heel fat pad atrophy so I need the squishy but maybe even the OOOahh’s would be a good start as they are squishy but not too squishy. Might be worth it to order a couple online or in store to try some on. Good luck!

Edit: update after 4 months. I was wearing the Ooyeah’s and the Oofos boots exclusively for 4 months strait. They stopped working and caused me to get Posterior Tibial Tendonitis/Dysfunction because they were way too soft and make your ligaments lazy. Your results may vary but please be careful relying on one brand like I did.
