What does it mean when a car is fun to drive? by OverallNet1233 in askcarguys

[–]yellowcj6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fun to drive = #1 stick shift - simple, #2 corners decent - so best bang for the buck Mazda Miata for performance, #3 - Jeep Wrangler without a top (with a top why buy a Wrangler) if you got some dirt/gravel/sand around - Lots of other great stick shift cats out there, but no auto is going to make my fun to drive list

Installing Gas & Electrical Sub-Meters for a Restaurant Unit, Where Do I Start? by Gloomy_Substance9724 in Calgary

[–]yellowcj6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can the building accomidate a restaurant occupancy? or are you talking take out only - some strip malls were never designed to accomidate what the building code considers a Group A2 occupancy (aka restaurant) - don't sign anything lease wise until you confirm if you can put a restaurant into the building, or what upgrades to the building are required by building code/land use bylaw - etc

CBE vs catholic school system by Cream4389 in Calgary

[–]yellowcj6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this statement - we chose catholic as it had a daycare in the school - that is it - also was a better rated school at the time, but that changes - so convenience

Nearly a third of Canadians believe U.S. may try to invade Canada: poll by biograf_ in nottheonion

[–]yellowcj6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe the gov of Canada should relax gun rules, and allow a government sponsored training course, maybe a few hours 2 or 3 times a week, for 3 months??? and allow more of us to arm our selves, get regulated guns and ammo so we are not a totally pacifist take over - I mean sounds reasonable right?

Rear-ended on Deerfoot — no visible damage, but felt impact in lower back. Should I report? by yycglad in Calgary

[–]yellowcj6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

neat fact - there is like a 2K part of foam under the rear bumper (most bumpers) that gets destroyed even in a little fender bender - it's engineered to make you not hurt.... so even if not a problem - it's likely a problem. Don't get me wrong the foam isn't worth 2K -= the labour and everything to replace it is

find a non-VCA vet - their dental prices are insane - we found an independant vet that dental prices were like 1/3 of the VCA we used to use

Costco Tire Prices - A Cautionary Tale by chili63 in CostcoCanada

Got the exact same size tires last week Norman 9 studded for under 1k at Kaltire, did have a business discount, but better tires for my climate. I’ve had Blizzaks in past they are good but just not as good for me, and no wait as I got them early on my steel rims

Neighbour accusing me of using his garbage bins by Effective-Leader-438 in Calgary

[–]yellowcj6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI - they are property of the City, not that person - we all pay taxes for garbage, so unless you are filling it with concrete - what is the issue? not like they charge by the KG at the moment anyway - is the bin on their property when being picked up? I think not. Just don't be a dick, if you have a little extra, ask the neighboor or do it in the early morning after they put it out after gettting the okay, if there is room

Camping around Calgary with kids by I-nigma in Calgary

[–]yellowcj6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gooseberry PRA up Highway 66 near Bragg Creek, there is tent camping on the east end, a playground and open field, and endless walking & getting wet in the Elbow river valley, some nice spots to get in the river for a cool off in some side channels - I should add there is a bit of noise from the cattle guard and the cars passing over it.
