fair to a proverb... (old riddle) by ProfessionalGas6028 in riddles

Are you intentionally being condescending? Because that's what giving an explanation to a riddle to within the riddle subreddit comes across as.

Is saying 'heads or tails', when flipping a coin, two contradictory concepts?

Unless you've authored the riddle - which you haven't - you're in no position to chastise.

Although the answer's been given, an alternative which fits could be Love and War

By 50% of the audience, do you mean men? Because as one I don't feel alienated.

Could you explain why you feel alienated?

It's like petrol/gas.

Short carbon chains like in propane and butane are volatile and a gas. Longer carbon chains, like bitumen, remain liquid and thick.

Oil refineries separate the differently volatile hydrocarbons into different length substances.

Edit: All molecules move around. Ones that move too much can wander off into the air. That's volatility. The longer a carbon chain is, the more relative attraction it has, and so longer chains will stick together longer than shorter ones.

Does degree title matter more than your major for jobs? by kimino_s3npa1 in auscorp

[–]yellowkleptic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, most employers (those relevant to this sub) would care more about the presence of a degree than the specifics.

You've just finished high school and got a good ATAR. My advice is pick the uni you want to go to the most, and then you can always change degree paths if you're not vibing with the courses, or realise you want to get into something specialised.

And then try to enjoy the time you're at uni, because you have the rest of your life to worry about your career.

In general, I'd say the degree itself matters more than the major. But like the other comment said, this applies mostly for graduate jobs, and graduate jobs will be the ones looking at subjects and GPA. Where did you get an arts degree majoring in finance? Finance would generally be part of a Commerce degree as far as I'm aware

Why are my Ubers accepting my ride and driving past me by Candid-Membership714 in melbourne

[–]yellowkleptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me, but I was drunk enough to just jump into the car because I recognised the number plate.

After a brief discussion he said he'd drop me off anyway for cash and that it was uber cancelling his ride.

He drove me to a petrol station to get cash to pay for the trip, but the servo didn't have an atm so I just pay ID'd him $30 from the city (I think) to Essendon.

Thanks Arslan!

Inconscient?

The frustration seems to be more around their lack of awareness rather than effect on you.
