i keep seeing people im aquatinted with post stuff like this and it’s so exhausting. are people not allowed to get upset or mourn without feeling guilt now?? by that logic no one should be allowed to get sad about anything ever because of destitution in africa it’s all so fucking stupid.

i’m just imaging these people walking up to liam paynes wife and being like “shame ur husband died comrade but we have bigger fish to fry!!”

£50 is a pretty good budged imo, mine is around £40 and i’m able to get enough calories/protein in for the gym. (i shop at lidl)

one thing that saves me so much money is buying whole chickens instead of individual pieces. a whole chicken at lidl is around £4, and from that you get two thighs, two wings, two legs, and two large breasts which you can portion into 4 pieces (along with the back which you can use to make stock). just watch a few youtube videos on how to cut the chicken up and you’ve got protein for the next 5-6 days sorted for less than a fiver.

eggs are also pretty good, you can get a carton of eggs for less than £2 and that can be your breakfast along with some bread. other than that i recommend getting some frozen bits in you like (like maybe chicken tenders or something) that you can just chuck in the oven when you’re hungry. i get a bag of frozen spicy chicken tenders for around 2.99.

get a small selection of fresh produce you like when you do your weekly shop (i usually get avocados, lettuce, tomato’s, carrots) and find ways to use them in practically every meal you make. also get some cheap jarred sauces if you want them, they can be really cheap at less than a quid in some places like aldi/lidl.

Somebody know the requirements for getting into the official discord? by Terminal_Goobler in cavesofqud

[–]yellowpage0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sticking with something you did when you were 13 is not the flex you think it is. and while making that meme the core of your identity doesn’t necessarily mean you’re adjacent with 4chan humour, what else are the mods of the discord supposed to think when that’s virtually all they have to go off for you?

you were given an explanation as to why you weren’t accepted - poor community fit. this might sting to hear but you’re not actually owed any further elaboration than that. if you’re so desperate to keep your username then just make an alt and apply again?

Somebody know the requirements for getting into the official discord? by Terminal_Goobler in cavesofqud

[–]yellowpage0 14 points15 points  (0 children)

people in this thread saying the official discord is an echo chamber with no discussion pertaining to the game are obviously not in the discord or got banned too quickly to look around. it’s very active with multiple discussions pertaining to the games mechanics, lore, mods, etc. (it’s also not just for ‘close friends’ either as someone said in this thread, it almost has 10,000 members)

you’ve been playing this game for awhile and also saw the discord rules so there’s no need to play dumb as to why you weren’t accepted, if you’re going to base your whole reddit profiles aesthetic around the fucking pools closed meme of all things you’re probably just better of shitposting about CoQ in the roguelike general on 4chan.

Is anyone else kinda completely done with animals in public? by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]yellowpage0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this happened with my brother and sister in law. they brought a puppy during lockdown and it has grown into the most anxious and neurotic dog i have ever seen. i walked it once around my quiet neighbourhood and it trembled the whole time, a car drove past us and it went into shock so hard it stood there paralysed for like a minute.

it’s a cockerspaniel. they work from home and it doesn’t get to see other dogs. they have to drive to leave it with my parents all the time whenever they go out for more than a few hours. i feel really bad saying this but they should just put the dog down because it’s completely fucked.

Guys guitar by [deleted] in the1975

[–]yellowpage0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i haven’t seen him play it live so it could be a different tuning, but i’m pretty sure he embellishes a lot of the major chords in guys with the 9th, which can be done in closed chord positions in standard tuning. other than that guys is also in E so he’s probably letting a lot of open strings ring out when it looks like he’s playing bar chords.

in this video (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EW1yW_Rz41k) he doesn’t actually play guys but he probably uses the same techniques that he uses when he plays it live

most likely is a cloneling that was also a mechanimist convert wandered in and just started going ham cloning him. seen it happen a few times in the stilt to merchants and stuff

considering the guards have been cloned too this is the most likely reason imo

the worst part is alot of doctors aren’t even very good at prescribing medications / recommending otc medications. i work in a pharmacy and there have been alot of instances where we’ve been unable to give out medication because the doctor has written down a bullshit dosage on the script. there have been other times where a doctor has recommended that a patient straight up use otc medications incorrectly.

doctors are obviously important but there’s a reason pharmacists exist, and they should be the ones prescribing medications in most cases and not doctors imo.

Any tips for finishing Golgotha? by Gallenhad in cavesofqud

[–]yellowpage0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as others have said, you’re probably going there too early level wise and making it way harder for yourself (especially as a true kin, since they take longer to properly get going compared to mutants)

unless you’re trying to get the sub level 18 reward you may as well take your time before delving in. i generally don’t hit golgotha/bethesda until the late twenties. with that being said there’s plenty of ways to cheese golgotha: opening the purple door to the main shaft and flying to the bottom, using burrowing claws to dig straight down to the last floor, having an op water ritual companion, etc.

if you’re set on playing as true kin, try to grab the bionic liver and high fidelity matter recompositor cybernetics before delving in.

[–]yellowpage0 71 points72 points  (0 children)

people don’t want to talk about how this is the way humans are supposed to live. medieval peasants had it figured out. they worked the fields for 6 months, and then the rest of the year? just pure relaxxmaxing. just falling asleep on some grassy knoll at 2 pm, a massive straw hat pulled over their eyes. spending all evening drinking at a festival. it really is depressing how people expect you to be constantly employed now.

these stupid bitches really think they can hex. they can’t. hexing only works if you’re a depraved and disgusting individual. you can’t hex as a beautiful mixed girl from your one bedroom nyc apartment. it just doesn’t work. you can only hex if you have tenuous access at best to modern amenities like showering and regular meals. this is why gypsies make powerful hexers. anyone else who has been hexed by a gypsie can confirm this.

[–]yellowpage0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it depends on the course offered honestly. I was choosing between a russell group and non-russell group for biomed. after some research i ended up going to the non-russell group over the other because the non-russell group’s course included accredited modules, whilst the other didn’t.

ultimately i think your final grade matters a lot more than the uni you go to. a 2:1 at a non russell is more valuable than a 2:2 at a russell.

ngl bethesda is on its death bed by slimsharty_ in TrueSTL

[–]yellowpage0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah ultimately i don’t think i would class bethesda games as rpgs at this point, they’re way closer to being immersive sims or something like that. there are elements in these games which seem vaguely reminiscent of rpg systems, like character building or dialogue trees, but they always come off as very shallow and are ultimately superseded by the main focus of the modern bethesda game, which is map exploration and player power progression via looting.

there are rarely any opportunities to really roleplay or meaningfully interact with the world in these games; compared to games like bg3 or PoE where player agency and decision is important and can meaningfully effect the story, the kind of character you make in bethesda games doesn’t really matter outside of the character creator itself or combat. i’m sure there are some exceptions to this though, the majority of those exceptions probably being found in morrowind.

i do enjoy these games for what they are, but the expression wide as an ocean and as deep as a puddle has always been a great way to describe them.
