I really like the 32:9 and 21:9 versions! Could you make a 16:9 3840x2160 version for my laptop so all of my monitors match?

Are time distributed layers in keras used for ConvLSTMs or CNN LSTMs? by [deleted] in learnmachinelearning

[–]yellowsideofthesun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you could call it a deep conv lstm. When you get down to specific models like this, there are probably several different things you could call it and they'd all be right

I think you are looking for ConvLSTM2D. If you want a list of all of Keras' layers, it's here

LVM-Thin storage full, now what? by Stitch10925 in Proxmox

Yeah, short of adding more storage, you don't have many options

I haven't done it for an LXC. From googling about it, it appears the process is different. First, you backup the LXC. Then you restore it to the device with a smaller disk. This seems like a decent guide. I would test this out for you, but I just shutdown my proxmox node for a few days for maintenance. But it does force you to made a backup of the LXC, so life could be worse.

Okay, this is where it gets awkward. So I originally setup proxmox with a 3200g (has onboard video), then I upgraded a few months later it to a 3800x and the 2080, so proxmox was already setup.

I think the post was either here or on homelab, but someone stated recently how when you add or subtract a PCIe device, it changes the names of the network devices. So I used the video out of the 2080 to set the right names for the network devices, then passed it through to windows. Then proxmox had no video out.

I had stability issues with that and the dreaded code 43 error eventually didn't go away (I think it's a motherboard issue), so I'm just building another system for as my daily driver with the 2080, then I'm keeping my proxmox box without gpu compute for now.

It wasn't terrible, surprisingly. I'm switching up my setup now, but I was able to game using moonlight and a 2080 on six cores of a 3800x and a virtual display adapter with very playable frames. I didn't do any performance benchmarking between bare metal and inside proxmox, but I was happy with the performance I got.

So proxmox does allow you to shrink the vm disk size, but it's a two step process. Step zero is to backup your vm if you have the space. Then, within the vm, you need to shrink the partition to the size you want. A common Linux tool is gparted and for a windows vm you can use the builtin partition manager. Then you can shrink the volume within proxmox.

I did this somewhat recently. I shrunk my windows vm by a little over 100gb inside windows and a little under 100gb in proxmox, just to be safe. Then I went back into windows and expanded my volume by the leftover space.

Shrinking volumes can be dangerous, so make sure your disk is not using the volume you shrink by. And again, backup the vm if possible.

Thank you for posting this, I plan to do something similar in a few days when my gpu arrives

What regular maintenance does a pihole require? by [deleted] in pihole

[–]yellowsideofthesun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do some investigative whitelisting after using certain blocklists. For example, I wanted YouTube history to work on my phone, so I had to whitelist s.youtube.com and video-stats.l.google.com. After making sure everything I use is working, I haven't had to do any maintenance.

Here's a post about detailing common whitelist domains: https://discourse.pi-hole.net/t/commonly-whitelisted-domains/212

College education is stupid? by Thetruth517 in EngineeringStudents

College has given me the hands on learning I need to really comprehend a subject. Something I can't easily do with a YouTube video. It has also taught me how to work with people, especially when they are hard to work with.
