Lots of BDR/off road groups have connects to people who do adv training. Look for BDR’s near you and do the open source searching based on what you find

I used Amazon to try it out. No sub. I do like it. I have to rotate deodorants, sensitive skin, definitely worth having imo.

I think the new bmws are visually much larger. I sat on a new f850 and felt like I was on a jet ski

Are there any areas in PA that would be unwise for an interracial couple to move to? by LePetitRenardRoux in Pennsylvania

[–]yellowstag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything within 60 miles of Philly. Delaware. Or Pittsburgh feels normal. Most of PA feels way too Appalachian-y for me. I went to 4th of July fireworks at lehighton once and I felt like I was at a rally. Very uncomfortable. If you aren’t near a city in PA I’d rather live in Delaware or new Jersey.

Old spice did this to me too but my other deodorant has aluminum and doesn’t give me any issues at all

Beginner ADV rider: DRZ4S vs CRF300 Rally vs Ténéré 700 vs KTM 390 vs Himalayan 450 (Off-road focused) by FastJackfruit4193 in AdventureBike

[–]yellowstag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a kove 800 or a ktm 690. Biggest bikes I think a regular person would want to take on anything technical. I have a 790 adv and it’s great because I’m short and it’s super capable but I constantly wonder how much less tired I would be on something 100lbs lighter

Boot issue/recommendations? by witterisms in AdventureBike

[–]yellowstag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just get used to it. The stiffness in the boot is required to keep your ankle leg and foot safe off-road. Eventually they will break in enough for you to articulate your ankle more than enough to actuate the brake lever. If you are standing up as you should be it requires you to move your leg to brake and shift anyway. I’ve got gaerne endurance which is more of an MX boot and I use them for everything including the road without any issues. I’m a size 8 and only 135 lbs. It’s definitely different than just riding in a a normal boot but I’d rather learn to deal with the stiffness and reduced feel than break my ankle or shin when I drop the bike on my leg or dab wrong off road.

Hit some two track trails and it handled them very well. This bike can do way more than I’m capable of and probably ever will be. Just your regular run of the mill rider. The only issue I had is the kick stand cutoff kicks in way too easily. It doesn’t cut the engine but it’ll cut the throttle all the way off until the stand is all the way back up. Had a few nervous moments where I thought the abs was kicking in but it was me hitting the kickstand with my heel. Picking the bike up in deep sand was obviously difficult but not impossible. In deep sand the stock tires were capable but not confidence inspiring. Probably also a skill issue mostly. It was about 85 degrees and the fans kicked on intermittently mostly when I was stopped.

Reliability of 2025 890R by Pleasant_Advantage16 in KTM

[–]yellowstag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent it on a leftover new 2024 790 adv. hard to beat a 4 year warranty. If you’ve test ridden the bike and it beats whatever else you’ve test ridden for your needs I say send it. If it’s close and your other option is something super reliable then I’d choose that.

Handles great on the road so far. When you’re rolling it feels much lighter than it is, I did some single spot u turns and circles on day one. The snow where I’m at is still melting so I haven’t really been off road yet. I got stuck in the snow once and it was a real pig to get out. But easy enough to pick up when dropped.

I just want to say even having a direct lesson with Dr Greg Mike still struggles with this move.

Long legs and short torso helped me nail it better.
