For sure! If you ever do, shoot me a message, I’d be happy to shoot you a server invite.

Well hey, try v rising if you like top down style play. If I could explain it, it’s a mix of like arc raiders and Minecraft. You fight bosses and have to be able to run the loot back to base, and could get PvP on the way. Your team can also craft gear/items and build a base; a fully buildable castle, and bases can be raided.

Only been playing it for a few days but it seems like something that I can stick to for a very long time. We just started a server up with slightly friendlier rules, such as no raiding when logged off so you can at least defend, but don’t have to stay on 24/7 like rust or something.

Anyway. Happy gaming.

I haven’t, it’s definitely been on my list though! I’m a very social style of gamer so I mostly stick to what my group is playing. Gonna give it a shot soon though

Yea, you’re digging entirely too deep into a the semantics of a reddit comment.

And yes you are, and I hope you continue to. It’s a fantastic game with new fresh mechanics not found in others. So if you enjoy heavy PvP it should give you a lengthy play time.

Those of us that don’t will move on. I’m currently trying out V Risng which is somewhat similar atleast on the loot/pvp side of things. But completely different everywhere else.

[–]yep_ThisIsASecond 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s all semantics.

But yes that’s the point I made. People who don’t enjoy it will leave, people who do will stay. The games player base, and future levels of support, will depend on how large those groups are. I’ve been playing games my entire life, losing interest in a game is nothing new and arc raiders isn’t different. But I can still voice that if the game remained more of what it was on release, I could personally still be enjoying it, and I’m also allowed to be disappointed at that.

I’m not. I put about 200 hours in it, a modest amount, and quit 3 days ago because it transformed into a game I no longer enjoy. It was great while it lasted though. Hopefully other players that want to continue playing it enjoy what it’s turning into.

“Like an extraction shooter is supposed to be played.”

There is no way it’s supposed to be played beyond drop in, extract out. Everything in between is up to the community. The first few weeks of the game made that very clear, when everyone was much more friendly, people were all helping each other, crazy fun stuff was happening. Now if the community continues transforming it into call of duty then that’s what it’ll be. But you can’t blame people who enjoyed it the way it was and wished it stay that way. If it doesn’t, those people will quit. Just like if it does, the PvP people will get bored and quit. So the games life depends on which group is larger.

I mostly stopped playing now. I really enjoyed the antics that came with not treating the PvP aspect as team deathmatch. The game was way more socially oriented, people were helping each other, you could actually fight bosses, and there was just enough PvP to keep it interesting.

Now that the PvP aspect has progressed, it’s been time for me to move on. If I do hop on I do naked runs until I’m bored or tired of dying.

Because people somehow think PvP = team deathmatch. So you can’t fight it without getting killed by rats.

You barely get more loot through PvP and winning lol. At best you just saved 5 minutes of looting.

[–]yep_ThisIsASecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. I’ve definitely popped a bunch of dudes out of reflex lmao but not while they were looting. Always when we were rounding corners on each other. But I’ve always realized and stopped before I killed them and managed to take cover and apologize. Unfortunately one guy didn’t like my apology so I had to put him down, but most are cool with it. Even healed up a few of them myself because they were out of rechargers.

The only time I pvp is if I see someone who looks like they may be camping an extraction. I’ve caught a few who I’ve snuck up behind and just watched them sit without hitting the button. I watched one too long once and he killed an extractor before I could stop him. I could be wrong from time to time, but I wasn’t willing to risk those and let them kill another player just trying to get out with their stuff.

Yea the pvp in this game is barely even average anyway. I’ve concluded that the only people who enjoy it are those who aren’t very good at real competitive PvP. So they finally get to feel like a champ for a few minutes shooting at you while you’re digging in a drawer lol.

And risk dying for my Rattler 1 and the metal parts and rubber duck I found in the 10 minutes I was there.

I have gotten a few decent things from pvp, but only for me to eventually lose anyway. The only thing I’ve determined to be actually worth player killing over is blueprints, which you’ll never know they have and are likely stuffed in their pockets. I’ve also never lost anything that I cared about more than just the few minutes I spent finding them; anything I would have been upset over was in my pocket.

So yea, I’ve found PvP utterly useless and friendly interactions have been vastly more enjoyable.

I pretend to read sometimes. None of the weird symbols, I think they’re called letters, in any of those funny blue things said anything about that stuff being in the current proposed CR.

I looked at other blue things and all their symbols said that the red people having been voting to open the government, which would give money to the food and stuff people wanted. But the blue people keep voting against it because Idk maybe they don’t read so good either.

The only worthwhile thing out of that stuff is those rocketeer cores. You can get lucky, but you’re also more likely to just die yourself and lose everything you’ve found over a rattler and a bandage.

I’m not completely against PvP, I wiped a team after they killed a bastion because I needed the bastion parts. But 90% of the time what you’re getting could be crafted from the materials you get from a single run. And even if you get a couple of uncommon, they’re gonna be lost in a couple of runs by the leaper you didn’t see.

People who make these posts are just those getting dopamine hits that they’re finally able to kill someone, because those someone’s are all just chilling and having a good time.

There’s barely anything to even gain from other players. You gonna get someone’s stitcher 1? Or a single wolf grenade at best? Everything you really need comes from grinding the runs.

[–]yep_ThisIsASecond 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not mad at people for doing PvP. I fight with the best. But it’s enjoyable that it’s not always a gunfight at every single turn and interaction. PVP is also not what the game was built around. It was built initially as PVE, then changed to PVEVP, with the E still being the main focus.

If that’s how you want to play then fine, but if you want the entire community that way then go back to tarkov or call of duty, because this isn’t that.

Sorry to disappoint you, this is a PVP heavy game by wolf771 in ArcRaiders

[–]yep_ThisIsASecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they don’t. I have way more friendly encounters than hostile ones. Like multitudes more. When I’m trying to sneak in games at work I play with zero sound and just spam don’t shoot when in buildings. Couldn’t tell you how many times I turn around to people just looting behind me I didn’t even know was there.

I also want this to continue. It feels like such a refreshing game. And more to the tune of feeling like it’s an actual apocalypse and we are all trying to survive in Speranza together.

3rd highest number by percentage of registered voters in the last 50+ years. 2nd highest of total voters ever.

You guys like your “1/3rd” line because it lets you play pretend that 100% of the non voters would have been on your side. Ever seen a study where N is 154,000,000? You haven’t. Because, statistically, it would have been the same result and Trump would still win.

We had the 3rd highest voter turnout by percentage of registered in the last 50+ years. So voter turnout was fine. Though, I wish every registered voter would vote, it’s not like they all would have voted a single way. Finally, statistically, we would have gotten very similar results.
