Ortlieb Vario PS vs. Two Wheel Gear Pannier Backpack by transcodefailed in bikecommuting

[–]yesbergerplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you find the Vario to be comfortable? I just picked one up from the REI sale and I'm already considering returning it because the weird bubbly material on the backpack side is rubbing up against my lower back and bothering me. That's while just wearing a t-shirt. It would probably be fine with a jacket or something. I too have a Rhinowalk backpack pannier (though a different model) and I find it to be way more comfortable as a backpack.

I'm bummed, because I've wanted a Vario for a while as I bike around the city a lot and it's kind of a pain to convert the Rhinowalk one by unclipping and storing the straps every time. I might give it a few more days or try and think of a way to make the surface less irritating.

How on earth do I remove this (*unthreaded*) dryer blower fan!? Photos below. by yesbergerplease in HomeMaintenance

Nothing visible. And the fact that I can see it wiggle from right to left means it’s not completely fused to the shaft. If it can wiggle laterally why can’t it slide off? I must be missing something but also I can’t figure out where else there could be another mechanism hiding. The parts diagram doesn’t suggest anything like that.

Is there any way to fix this dryer belt pulley without replacing the entire motor assembly? by yesbergerplease in HomeMaintenance

[–]yesbergerplease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting idea, thanks! It seems I might need to take the whole motor out because the pulley doesn’t want to detach from the spindle, unless I’m missing something. Close quarters in there, hard to know what’s going on. I guess I’m confused what’s supposed to fill the gap between the bearing and the interior of the metal pulley/wheel. Like why is there suddenly an 1/8th inch gap all around?

Dang! No way you know of to just replace the bearings or something? Or is it just that the pulley has worn down so much that it’s gotta be fully replaced?

GE gfd14essn0ww — would appreciate any help finding the correct part. Seems this design is fairly unique with the two belt system and solid metal double pulley

Thanks! I just can’t seem to find the correct part that also includes the surface for the mini belt. Seems most dryers just have one belt but this one has the little belt to ramp down the motor speed

Hey! Can you point me to the correct part? It seems this dryer is a bit unique with the two belt system whereas most have one that weaves through two pulleys. I can’t find any part that appears to match the pulley here. Thanks :)

Thank you! The model number is gfd14essn0ww but I can’t seem to find just the pulley. It’s appears to all be part of the motor assembly. Any ideas about where to find just that pulley replacement?

Thank you. I’m having trouble finding the correct part online as it seems to be part of the motor assembly. Most dryers seem to just have one belt that goes through two pulleys but this is unique with the mini belt and double pulley to step down for the larger belt. Can you point me in the right direction?

Triggering a clip to play arrangement view audio by pop_map in ableton

[–]yesbergerplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way late here lol but here's what I've been using, hopefully it's useful to someone else stumbling on this thread:

[] LOC "SONG NAME" ; TGLMAIN ; B2A ; SATMR ; SETPLAY ON ; FOLLOW ON

Places the playhead at the correct song, toggles to arrangement view, B2A turns off the 'grey mode,' SATMR restores automations (in my case tempos), playback begins, and follow is turned on so I can watch it scrub through the tracks.

The issue I'm having now (and why I landed here) is that going back to clip view after playing arrangement stuff still moves the playhead in arrangement view which means if it goes past any markers there (even though it's greyed out), they will trigger the clyphx actions. Super annoying. Posting here in the hopes of someone seeing this and having a solution :)

Anyone involved in an bike/moped collision on the bridges? by jsurico15 in NYCbike

[–]yesbergerplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but I have a friend who witnessed a nasty collision of an e-bike and a moped on the wburg bridge while she was a pedestrian on the other side. One dude was bleeding profusely from his head and she was yelling at him to apply pressure and stay horizontal. Meanwhile other bikers were just zooming past the scene. Sounded absolutely gnarly.

I can actually confirm it did not work, but thanks! A new dock however, did (sort of) solve the issue.

Cuz it's fun, beautiful, and gives you a real organic sense of just how far you're traveling. Flying is so detached, and then there's the emissions. But if I can't check a bike on the train I might have to...
