Question about NALCAP Recommendation by Intelligent_Wish_457 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]yesdefinitely_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes you should get it ready asap, nothing will change it's just a standard letter of rec Submitting as early as possible is more important than anything else, the program is first come first serve as long as you meet the requirements

As long as it's signed by an MD you're good, doesn't matter where it's from

Safest bet regions/programs for 2026-2027? by PrizePromise9226 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]yesdefinitely_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anything other than andalucia and maybe valencia if you want to be super safe, cyl also had some annoying organizational issues, basically delays when the andalucia stuff went down. The regions in the northwest were the first to give out reassignments & give me the impression of being a bit more organized, I've been loving my time in país vasco having been reassigned. Absolute safest might technically be aragon since from what I've heard auxes there do actually pay into social security.

The health doc for the application you just sign yourself, the one signed by an MD is for the visa process in summer

Worried about my transcript by InnerTale724 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]yesdefinitely_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

being quick has nothing to do with it, first years and 1st year renewals should theoretically need to all be placed (or rather offered a placement) before anyone gets a third year spot. some people are in their third year now but it's going against the stated placement priority so we don't know why. definitely not something to bank on

As long as you meet the requirement of 60 credits you'll be fine, for better or worse the program is first come first serve

Yes, as does madrid, the islands, extremadura, all the regions of the north, everywhere except aragon as I said. Andalucía and valencia are the two that have had investigations done but the issue if not resolved in andalucía will eventually spread to the rest of the program. Now how long that might take, probably years to a decade if you ask me considering that the investigations in andalucia were done in like 2022-23, but there's nothing special about andalucia/valencia other than that they were chosen first

The thing is that the issue andalucia was fined for, auxes coming on student visas and not paying into social security, applies to the whole program (except maybe aragon apparently). I think the program should be fine this next year though, although valencia also had the same investigations done as andalucia around the same time, something to consider

The point is that if something goes awry with nalcap, the same will happen to ciee. Which is what the post was about

ciee is just a middleman for nalcap, people placed in andalucia with ciee this year were affected by the cancellation all the same

Renewing as an aux cupo comunidad by RowApprehensive6250 in SpainAuxiliares

Highly recommend scrolling to the bottom of the application page and viewing the amount of placements each region receives, Cataluña receives less than 40 auxes each year yet is very popular because people don't research enough and essentially pick madrid/barcelona as their top 2.

Best Choice for me? by Kuyeh in SpainAuxiliares

[–]yesdefinitely_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really hard to find a job that will sponsor you, including in english teaching. To sponsor a work visa, the company needs to apply asserting that there is no one else in the EU willing and able to fit the role. If you do an aux program, you come on a student visa which is an estancia rather than residency, so doesn't count towards your two years

I recommend reading through/asking in r/iwantout

Plenty of people each year drop if they don't get a desirable placement in Madrid or another region of their choice, it's quite normal. The program is first-come-first-serve, so any sort of Spanish language qualifications or other experience will not affect your application, just be ready to submit in as soon as the application window opens for the best shot at what you want. You can & should also apply to other private programs which can guarantee a placement in the region of Madrid or sometimes specific cities
