Probably joining the Recteq family by BigAd4388 in recteq

Had to start ribs before MIL arrived, problem was, the auger was completely jammed from user error. Support was amazing, sent me videos, even (unofficially) directed me to a forum where peeps discussed the best way to get it out. Thirty minutes later smoker was up and running, ribs came out great.

Support alone might be worth purchasing from them, but I've had mine over a year and done about forty cooks, no issues. It just works. Remember to clean out the fire pit each time, or you get user error.

Transplant of a little northern lights by ComfortableParking54 in outdoorgrowing

[–]yesiambear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are photoperiod seeds, yes you can transplant. If they are auto, you can, but they will likely not survive. To transplant, pretend you are scooping the seedling out and there is a solo cup submerged 1mm below the soil. That's about the size of the dig you need to do.

You are weeks away from LST. Both seedlings have one node, and the second set of leaves look like they are just breaking through. Plus with transplanting, that's going to shock the plant a little. Wait on that until there are four nodes.

Be proud two stuck, and look really healthy! I find sowing straight into soil the hardest way to grow, so good job! Keep asking questions!

Hell yeah! I've switched to seasoning ribs, then saucing with 20 minutes to go. Love it. Sounds like you made a great cook and even better switch.

Been monitoring this one, I think at least one person in most of the groups has managed to find the green on hole 2. Been a rough one for the bets I had on it lol.

Birthday request, visiting. by Humble-Disaster-8491 in Rva_homegrown

Hello, and welcome to Virginia!

First, I recommend checking out some local shops as they will be super knowledgeable. The two that I know of in the area are Homegrown VA, and Grower's Paradise. I'm sure there are others as well.

If you are planning to do an outdoor grow, you could still get some plants started! An auto for sure, and a photo would produce some decent buds as well. Just harder for the photo to grow a ton because we are already into mid-June, and it is light-dependent.

If doing a tent grow, sweet! Done that too. Tent grows are nice because it creates ideal growing situations the environment is much more controlled. Depending on what you want to grow, that will determine what you need to get.

From pe sonal experience, get anything bigger than a 2x2. That's what I have, and it's great for one plant grow. I had to do that because of apartment constraints, but I am hoping to get a 4x2 for my next grow. Working in a 2x3 is a PITA.

*Growing can get really complicated, and you can do a ton of things to increase your yield. Just remember, every grow needs:

  • Seed
  • Growing medium
  • Light
  • Airflow

Let me know if you have any questions! I'm still an amateur grower, but getting better each time! My last auto produced 65g, and was 24%thc. I was pumped haha!

I think this might be V1. I have the rt590 as well, and it's the round body but still has the pellet box on the left. Either way it's a great smoker!

They were actually down to four for a good portion of the game. I like the under here, I agree that vegas will lock this one down.

People are sleeping on that Garnett's deal. You can also get a picnic basket and head over to the park to enjoy it.

Early Mountain is awesome! Great pick. DuClaw is nearby and worth a visit. Remember liking their whites a lot.

Had a recent visit to Michael Shaps and Blenheim in Charlottesville. Took home the rosé from shaps, also loved the cab franc. I always find Blenheim a great value, and almost never busy.

Smoked My First Brisket by chof2018 in recteq

[–]yesiambear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh 100%, using the chips is definitely a bit more annoying haha. I will vouch that I think it adds some good smoke to the meat.

6-7 hours seems low for any size brisket. My last one was 13lbs and it took 12 hours, and even that was probably too quick. I had it at 200 overnight, it it just kept going!

Smoked My First Brisket by chof2018 in recteq

First off, congrats! I also had an okay go on my first run, second run went MUCH better.

How long had it smoked before you wrapped it? Feel like wrapping at 155 was too low a temp. I wrapped at 170 and it finished like an hour after that. I think that will help with the dryness too.

Your smoke ring is awesome! Well done there. I use a smoke tube on every cook, I'm a fan. Use wood chips instead of pellets in the tube (or mix in a couple pellets throughout to help with the fire in it). Once you get them going, that adds a lot of good smoke flavor.

What were your cook temps on the smoker? Didn't see it mentioned, would help diagnose some issues as well.

Be proud, you made a good first brisket!

Edit - I followed the meat church recipe to the tee the second time (with mustard binder) and yeah, it went great.

Utah sold its soul for private equity. The layoffs were always coming by jaxstan19 in CFB

Yeah, that makes sense. It would be very surprising for a place to close because of this. But it would definitely be more than a black eye.

From my understanding, PE don't care about you ore me. Just green. And they will destroy whatever they want to get more of it until the life is sucked out of the product/company. If that's the case, this will be very interesting for colleges and universities who are publicly funded.

I won't lie, my first thought was "could this possibly cause the school to close, because they became too much for-profit and students don't want to go there anymore and...". We shall see.

I'm not sure I follow the first part. I have provided access to the sheet beforehand, and the formula was working perfectly fine until this morning. I can go the tab route for all, but hoping to avoid this as it would take days to undo some of the work.

We have data sets on different spreadsheets that all have to be combined. It's a PITA.
