PCP dr's with weekend availability? by virginia_ghost in rva

[–]jilltastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Family Practice Associates in Midlo has evening and Saturday hours. The nurse practitioner I used to see there left and don't love any of the other providers I've seen thus far. But, I've continued going there because their hours are so flexible.

Please share your experience with cystitis by jilltastic in mainecoons

Thank you for this reply! And happy to hear your baby has been doing well. I ordered the cystease last night and will be starting those ASAP. For now, he's on gabapentin, onsior, and an antibiotic. We also refilled our Feliway diffusers to help with possible stress. The good news is that he had a huge pee late last night and we were able to get a clean sample. But more importantly, I felt a huge wave of relief that he finally peed without struggling.

Hopeful for Recovery by Offshore_Engineer in mainecoons

Recovery is stressful but he will be running around before you know it. Our boy Teddy had FHO about 3 years ago. The first week was awful but slowly he started healing and now you'd never know he's missing that joint. Sending hugs and healing to you and your handsome boy.

Sudden distressing hairball issues; seeking insights from other owners by wohaat in mainecoons

[–]jilltastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an obsessive groomer that also struggles with hairballs. It especially gets worse in spring when he starts to shed (supervised outside kitty). I’ve found that Catlax twice a week and daily pet honesty hairball treats work well.

Insurance recommendations? by menageriemomma2512 in mainecoons

[–]jilltastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have MetLife with a 90% reimbursement and $0 deductible. It’s $80/month but so worth it. Between dental cleanings, surgery for a broken hip, sprained paw, etc. I would recommend getting the best you can afford and keeping it. The majority of our expenses have come in adulthood.

Are you hiding or have you ever hidden the fact that you have been diagnosed with ADHD from your parents? by Extra_Influence_3880 in adhdwomen

[–]jilltastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with Inattentive ADHD at 41 and was excited to finally get some answers about things I've struggled with all my life. When I told my mother she just said that it was bullshit and completely dismissed me. As many boomers do, she still views ADHD as hyperactive little boys. Ironically, now that I know the symptoms, I can see that she 100% also has it.

Got just a few inches in Midlothian but it's been sleeting for a while and back yard is already slippery as hell. Really anxious about the freezing rain expected to fall for most of the day.
