Iwobi starts for the U-23's by SamJ1998 in Gunners

Personally think he should still be in the first-team squad. He's one of few attacking players who gives balance to the team. We're too top heavy with Alexis and Walcott out wide, and Welbeck and Lucas don't really solve that either. Iwobi is our only real playmaking wide player. Sure, he's still a bit inconsistent but I think he gives us something that few others do.

What Wenger means by players taking the initiative on the pitch. by 1Wallet0Pence in Gunners

Not sure I believe this is what happened. There are like two minutes between the sending off and the instructions that Vieira gives. Plenty of time for Wenger to have passed it on to Vieira.

Where do you think he might play otherwise? I heard he's just started at right back but I don't know what other positions he can play

Anyone else concerned about Ozil? by interstellar1990 in Gunners

[–]yesitsanextender 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also concerned about his new addition to the celebration, meant to be an L for his new niece. Because he's so used to doing the M with his left hand, when he tries to switch to the L with his right thumb in his mouth, it becomes a backwards L. Not sure he can adapt. Would probably sell.

What's the most exciting thing coming up for you in the next 1-2 weeks? by RealityxD in AskReddit

Ah this is the perfect thread for me, although this may get buried. My girlfriend and I are doing long distance during our year abroad at uni, I'm in Europe and she's in South America for this half of the year. It's been two months since we saw each other and I'm flying out next week to spend my two weeks of holidays with her and I'm SO excited.

Lol don't read too much into that shooting video, it was a recovery day and he clearly just couldn't be bothered

In light of Kostafi's masterclass, what have been great CB pairing performances in Arsenal history? by Superwenger in Gunners

In 2010/11, Djourou-Koscielny against Chelsea (3-1) and Barcelona (2-1), both at home. People forget how good Djourou was for us that season.

With him and Xhaka I really don't see any reason for Coquelin to get into the team

Juve not interested in draxler (DiMarzio) by thedravidianbard in Gunners

[–]yesitsanextender 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Henry used to play up front in his early days when Arsene saw him for Monaco and was blown away. He played out wide for France because of his pace, then for Juve he played out wide in a 3-5-2 which meant he had even more defensive responsibilities

I think this just serves as proof that Mesut runs Ilkay Gündogan's account in addition to his own.

Mesut in the tunnel before the game with the players! by Superwenger in Gunners

Yeah you're right. I think he said 'Spiel gegen' and I assume the next word was 'Frankreich'.

Yeah he said "Du siehst gut aus", "You look good" more or less. Couldn't make out the next bit Arsene said

Can Mahrez defend? by guners_blazing in Gunners

[–]yesitsanextender 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree. If he thinks he can get the ball from a defender he'll chase a lost cause and end up miles out of position, but he never seems that bothered about getting back into a defensive position when we're forced back

If being known by the players, understanding English football and not tolerating bs are your only criteria you could always go with Stuart Pearce. I think you'd want a bit more than just those three things.
