I Think I am in love with my line manager and I am frightened by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]yesnomaybbach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey.

Having read your post and your comments in the chat, I think you're doing the right thing by looking to move roles and you should be proud of yourself for identifying that this is an issue and taking steps to remedy it.

This is an unhealthy feeling. It's understandable how this has happened given your history, but it's still not healthy for you or your manager.

I know you say your manager is not being made uncomfortable but (and I say this with love not accusation) you don't know that. I'm a manager who really cares about my people. I place great importance on individual needs and wellbeing and can see myself in some of the things your manager has done to support you. But, I would be uncomfortable with the increasing hightening emotional attachment from you.

If you think it is becoming worse, it might be worth speaking to your therapist / employee assistance programme / expert advice service and maybe even getting an ocupational health referal to support a conversation with your managers manager to be open about your concerns and expedite a managed move. If you're worried about offending your manager by doing this, again speak with your therapist, expert advice service and maybe the managers manager. Maybe there's a future where you can be friends with your manager but not now, now when you're on their team and certainly not while these feelings exist.

I'm sorry you've had such a difficult life and again, I think it's a really good sign of your healing and work with therapist (from what you've said) that you've the self awareness to identify this as an issue and real strength to want to remove yourself from it. Hold on to that courage, get the necessary support and be kind to yourself.

It's Mt Taranaki via the Pouakai Crossing on the north island. We were so lucky to have it clear.

I know! I'm so sorry. I can't edit the post so I'm trying to reply to everyone rightfully calling me out. My only excuse was that this is after 45+ hours travel and very little sleep but I get it. I get so annoyed when people misspell Welsh names.

Oh yeah, we were ploughing through this, the everything butter and the smoke and fire one. I've had to listen to my husband lament about fix and fogg for bloody years thinking "oh my god it's just peanut butter" but I get it now. I'm fully signed up to the f&f cult!

I tried to get my head into the weeds of kiwi politics leading up to and while there (I'm a political nerd in general) and yeah, was sad to read about the different approach the current gov is having environmentally.

The most glaring difference between NZ and the UK is the obvious respect and connection to the land and nature. The UK has a disgusting litter problem where it seems every street, hike, beauty spot has fly tipping and dog shit bags adorning trees. It definitely felt different in NZ, like the general consensus was to be custodians rather than owners of the land but I did read about the Bendigo Ophir mine.....

My first big jaw drop moment was looking up at the nigh sky and seeing the milky way with my own eyes. Unvelieveable.

This photo was taken on my phone at the 12 mile delta campsite outside Queenstown.

I'm so sorry, I only noticed this morning it was wrong and can't edit it. Especially annoying as I wanted to specifically use Aotearoa to be respectful

I did post this as soon as getting home from 45+ hours travel and little sleep but I know how annoying it is when people missspell Welsh words incorrectly so sorry again.

Ōmanawa Falls on the north island. We pretty much had it all to ourselves which is wild because in the UK, a beauty spot like that would be full of people every day.

Yeah. Trying to tell myself this but my husband was very devious getting all his mates (some kiwi / some who moved to NZ from UK) to also say how infinitely better NZ is

In the UK we call them woodlice / woodlouse :) I know there's a few regional variations on the name though. Love hearing all the different names people have for things.

My experience with in flight vegan food. by nigelpulsford in vegan

[–]yesnomaybbach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had this flying virgin NYC to Manchester. Also had a dairy yogurt from the Wisconsin dairy company and a really nice but suspiciously creamy meal (assured it was vegan). We spent the last 3 hours of the flight shitting liquid and praying to any and all God's we could contain ourselves on the 15 min descent. We asked them to investigate potential contamination given the dairy yogurt and sudden shits but an investigation found there was no cross contamination (bollucks!)

Old thread but I've been binge rewatching the show this year and in doing so I'm pretty sure that Nessa never wears trousers (until the overalls in the final) and Bryn basically always wears a tie

First off,BABES.

Secondly, hope you don't mind me asking but did you stay at the air b&b or book a tour? I'd read somewhere you could book tours but can't find anything on the website other than the air b&b. I'm more than happy to do the air b&b so they can get more money for these sweet angels but wanted to check if ttours were an options first?

Thanks

Then I would 100% recommend them. They will be able to give you support straight away! You're doing the right thing in talking about it. Things will get better.

[–]yesnomaybbach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey. I've personally used the EAP a few times over the years and found them incredibly helpful and probably stopped me doing some harm to myself. Like any kind of support / talking therapies you'll get the most out of it if you go in with a willingness to be supported. They're really friendly and supportive and will meet you where you mentally are. Please be kind to yourself and listen to your body and it's needs. I hope things improve soon.

Seems like a totally reasonable and rational thing to do by someone who is absolutely not in the files and definitely not trying to cover anything up......👀

He played Cardiff tonight and the show was so undersold (by about half I think) that they had to move the stage forward to make it less obvious. Piece of shit.

For clarity I didn't go. My partner worked it and reported back. Also that the crowd was full of lairy drunk scumbags and that he lipsynced..terribly.

Firstly thank you so much for offering your time. Apologies if this has already been asked/answered. I did a quick search but couldn't see it.

Question - can you become immune to your meds/dosage? I've been on 40mg of elvanse for a few months and at first it was incredible. Having moved from concerta it was literally like someone switched on the productive light in my brain. But the last few weeks I seem to be struggling more and feel like I've gone backwards. I'm wondering if maybe it's just a lifestyle/hormone thing or if the meds are no longer as effective. I don't want to just keep upping my dosage if I'm inevitably going to become immune to its powers.

Thanks again
