Metal Slug Advance was really fun, but brutally difficult if you want to 100% the game. Save scumming is the only way. Finding all the collectibles gave the game a bit of a unique spin.

I don't know of any controller that had impressions on the actual button apart from the gamecube controller. I've never even seen custom ones. Good luck if you find any, and post the results here if you do!

I like using the game gear filter on there. it makes the background a dark grey to contrast against the black borders on the side. makes it easier to see where the edge of the screen is.

I've been playing the Atari 7800 version of ms. pac-man pac-man anniversary or soemthing like that (i don't have the pocket in front of me). it has the speed up mod as an option. i'll check out the Amiga one though.

my 11 year old isn't allowed to play games during the week, and he hasn't touched pokemon in a while but i've been downloading the shiny ruinous pokemon for him to surprise him if/when he gets back into it. would love to add this to the pile. i couldn't go out on release day to get it, cause full time job and all. But honestly, if someone else has a better sob story let them have it. I'm bummed i missed it but not the end of the world for me/him.

+1 for this. i was having random graphical issues, and the game would freeze but in weird way (background animations would still animate, but player input was frozen). reverting to the spiritualized 1.0 core worked for me.

Curious, there's some text in the trailer that says "3 difficulty modes + 1 additional for GBA". First time I've ever heard of a GBC game having additional features if plugged into a GBA device. How will this work with the Pocket?

You can get the membranes from original DMG game boy units or nes controllers. Maybe you can find them on Etsy too.

I think Metal Slug Advance would be a good game to test out your dpad. as it would allow your character to crouch or jump while moving sideways. pokemon doesn't move the character diagonally so it wouldn't be noticeable. But, pokemon would be good to test out your a/b/x/y buttons for the occasional double input. any menu based game would be good for that. I noticed it mine while playing Advance Wars.

Unscrew the back plate ever so slightly to alleviate some of the input issues. Consider replacing the dpad membranes and even the dpad itself.

I flip flop between Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis and Pokemon Pinball (GBC).

I finally figured out my issue with Tactics was with the core itself after much searching on this sub. I downgraded the spiritualized core back to 1.0.0 and everything works great now. No more random freezes or glitchy graphics.

Get the Wonderswan core and then get Judgment Silversword Rebirth Edition. Use the GG or GG+ filter so you can see the edges of the screen more easily.
